E-commerce is getting more popular these days

These days we hear very frequently the word E-commerce. E-commerce is buying and selling goods and services, or transmitting funds or data, over an electronic network. The transactions in this business are of four types.
    1. Business-to-business (B2B),
    2. Business-to-consumer (B2C),
    3. Consumer-to-consumer
    4. consumer-to-business.
E-commerce is also known as E-business.
Amazon and eBay E-commerce companies. According to the U.S. Census Bureau e-commerce accounted for 5% of retail sales in 2011. But by 2020, e-commerce accounted for 16.5% of retail sales.
E-commerce is becoming more popular mainly due to cashless transactions and time-saving. In my opinion, this will become much more popular in the coming years. I like more input from other members on this E-business.

There are many advantages for the seller and buyer, or the service provider and service consumer in E commerce.
When man other sectors of our life is going E-way, it is just natural that commerce also becomes E commerce.

For the genuine and honest business people E commerce provides the convenience and comfort of less paper work, easy and fast record keeping and retrieval; ready reckoner management information, easy and proper compliance to statutory requirements, tax compliance , complaint and grievance redressal etc.
E commerce is also helpful for the nation's macro and micro governance, feedback and input statistics and information for overall policy planning.

It is very true that e-commerce is becoming popular day by day and many people are opting for online shopping. The present market size of e-commerce in India is approximately $100 billion which is expected to triple in next 5 years.
In the retail segment the present online shopping activity is only about 4% of total shopping activity in our country as many people are still continuing physical shopping as they are habitual of it and want to see and feel the product before buying.
As the digital penetration is increasing at a very fast rate in our country and urbanisation is also taking place, it is expected that e-commerce is going to progress significantly.

Of late, we are witnessing a surge in online shopping via e-commerce and this activity is on the rise at an alarming rate. This is the reflection of the healthy growth of our business activities including e- commerce. This has been possible due to the acceptance of different wallets such as Google Pay, Paytm, and a host of credit cards issued by different banks for boosting business.
We need not go in for the cash transaction every time to buy our requirements as witnessed in the past. With the progress of time, we would glimpse a tremendous boost of e- commerce multiplying manifold from the existing pattern.

Online shopping platforms and digital payments have helped the surge in e-commerce in the whole world. There is a good number of merchants and delivery persons involved in this and in some cases the delivery is made through the local merchants within a few hours. So the customer is happy about the fast delivery. Another reason for the growth of the e-commerce is the return policy of these online giants like Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Ajio, etc who are allowing return of goods if found unacceptable by the customer.
I think that in coming times e-commerce is going to increase and would be a major revenue earner for the companies who are aggressively using e-commerce for business.

    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

Indeed, e-commerce has become an integral part of our daily lives, revolutionizing the way we conduct business and transactions. The statistics you provided truly highlight the exponential growth of this industry, reflecting its undeniable popularity and influence. I completely agree that factors such as cashless transactions and the convenience of saving time have significantly contributed to this trend. It's fascinating to see how technology continues to shape our shopping experiences, and I'm eager to hear more perspectives from fellow members on the future trajectory of e-commerce.

E-commerce is getting popular day by day. There are many nuclear families where both the members are employed and they are not able to spare time for leisurely market stroll and buying groceries from shops scattered here and there. They are just ordering the things and getting them in the desired delivery slots.
That is only one example of E-commerce. There are many activities which take very less time in E-commerce mode and companies and business houses are preferring it.
Another thing is that in online selling activities the selling platform gets a lot of opportunities from the suppliers or sellers to provide discounts and rebates of various types which sometimes attract the buyer or customer so much that he is tempted to order for merchandise immediately because the offer lapses within a few hours.
E-commerce is going to flourish in leaps and bounds in coming times.
