The danger of unemployed youths engaging in criminal activities

Unemployment today is a big problem not only in our country but in many countries around the globe. We all know that employment follows the rule of demand and supply and if there are a lot of people available for doing the job but job positions are limited then unemployment occurs and becomes a big challenge for the society.
Some of these unemployed people get themselves trapped in bad company and some evil people in the society use them for bad purposes. The young unemployed people don't understand the gravity of the situation and for making some money they start engaging in bad jobs ranging from drug trafficking to cyber crimes.
Is there any way to check this situation and provide the young unemployed people some sort of constructive jobs so that they can contribute to society and feel proud being a part in the nation building? Please share your views.

I think youth should have some work to do. Otherwise, they will be wasting their energies. At the same time employing all the youth is a difficult proposition. In my opinion, all unemployed people may not go for criminal activities. That will depend more on the environment in which the youth is brought up.
These days some state governments are offering unemployment pensions to some youth. They are getting that money and becoming lazy. The government should work to create jobs and see that every person will have some way of earning. Many of the criminals we are seeing are not unemployed. They are employed but they are not happy with their income. Such people encourage unemployed youth to resort to such unwanted activities. To stop such activities, the punishment mechanism should be strong. If a person gets a strong punishment immediately after committing a criminal activity, other people will have a fear and stop going to such activities.
The government should see how to develop the country and how to increase employment opportunities.

Unemployment is the biggest source for the unemployed to be entrapped in the criminal activities. It is not that the youths are not aware of such dangers but for their survival, they would not refuse even such vicious jobs for their survival. These youths are in need of true guides showing them the right path of their survival.
A timely guidance from the government or from the social workers can be of great help to them. The youths must be apprised of the job - positions of the different natures so that they can have a respectable earnings without resorting to dubious route. In absence of such guidelines, they become victims of the criminal bosses who exploit them for their own purpose.
At least the wrongdoers must be punished severely and this would be the eye opener for the youth. They would be afraid of resorting to unlawful paths. The phase of the unemployment tempts the youths to choose vicious path and hence they need the governmental support to choose a respectable vocation.

Criminal activities are, as such, dangerous, to the society as well as to the individual engaging in such activities. It is true that unemployment and the frustration such a situation creates coupled with empty pockets and ridiculing by the society does make some of them vulnerable to criminal/ illegal activities. I believe there are gangs that penetrate into such vulnerable groups and lure them with money to take part in activities like drug-peddling, hawala transactions, smuggling and to become part of gangster groups engaged in hired murders and other related crimes, creating social unrest etc. I think the society is also responsible for passively letting our youth to take up such activities.

Money flows and they forcefully gain some power which gives them satisfaction and a feeling of superiority. It is a vicious circle and one would find it difficult to escape from the clutches of such groups once you are in. It is kind of a trap. The strategies they follow have no moral principles or ethics and their only aim is maintain their position among different groups. It is a high-risk field and they always remain under the fear of getting caught or being killed or attacked by rival gangs or groups. But since most of these gangs are utilized by political parties, business houses and other social groups in the higher echelon, their clout is of a higher level and most of the time they escape from the clutches of law.

There are people who inadvertently become part of such activities and groups and there are people who become interested, due to different reasons, and go for it. The members belonging to the first group may be brought back to the mainstream with the involvement of the society and they may be rehabilitated but those of the second genre will mature, and criminality becomes their ideology.

While asking about the dangers involved, I think we should be more concerned and must think why it is happening. It does involve psychology and so the society as a whole, particularly parents, teachers and friends should be able to identify such traits and proper counselling and medical aid, if required, must be provided in the initial stage itself. The general tendency is to discard people with such mentalities, but I feel that we should not be doing so. Our attempt should always be to help them connect to the society and to keep them engaged in positive activities. Unemployment or lack of financial security cannot be an excuse for one to stray into such immoral and unethical grounds.

Certainly, it is a precarious situation and there should be a system that keeps youth engaged in some kind of work or the innocent people will bear the brunt of these unemployed youth. From what I have seen nowadays, many educated people are complaining that they are not getting interview calls even after applying for many jobs. People who have connections are the only people able to find job nowadays. If jobs are not generated then a large population of youth will be forced to do something, which is illegal.

I have noticed some youth engaged in drug peddling, which is one of the most dangerous thing to earn money. Situation at the moment is more dangerous because of automation and artificial intelligence. We are already hearing news of many IT companies firing their employees with just SMS or an email. They don't even have guts to say to the face of their employees because they know they are doing wrong.

These all MNCs have created an environment where only they will earn and majority of the population will starve to death.
The only way youth can be saved is through government regulations. They need to stop this madness or this country will surely become a hell in future.

Humble yourself or life will do it for you!
