How to get the doubts clarified in KC section?

Indiastudychannel is a good platform providing good information about jobs, education and related topics. Recently the site has created a special section called Knowledge Centre and many members are coming out with topics and answers.

As a viewer of this site, when I go through some answers provided by the members, I may be getting some doubts and I want to get a clarification for that. How can I bring my doubt to the notice of the concerned? For example, in one of the admission-related topics, it was mentioned in that answer that the entrance test will be offline. I visited the site mentioned in the answer but I did not get any information there. When I visited some other similar sites, it was mentioned there as online. Now I am confused. I am not giving any URL of that answer as it is not a specific complaint related to that answer.

In the article section, there is a space for giving our comments. But in KC that chance is not there. So I think it is better to give a comment box after the answer for each answer. I like to know the opinion of the policymakers of this site.

Knowledge Centre has been introduced for the benefit of the aspirants interested to have updated information on a topic with which we have some sort of ambiguity. In case, such a posting appears on the knowledge Centre, there is no doubt from our end regarding the correctness of the contents. We presume that the author has taken every care to provide us with correct information.

We cannot blame even the editors since they remain under the impression that the author dealing with the article is providing information which is absolutely correct and hence they don't have any mistrust of the same.

Only the person who has written that post can edit it and there is no comment box also for these posts. A more and less related issue was raised in a post a few days back about corresponding with the editors regarding knowledge centre posts. Once something done in that matter then same channel probably could be used for this type of interaction also. Let us wait and see the response of ISC on these issues.

    Dr Rao,

For an article, you can post a comment related to it and may also seek clarification. But in the Knowledge Centre, the setup is different where you can post topics or answer to any topic of your choice. If you have a better or correct answer to the topic you can always post your answer to the topic as anyone can post replies to the same topic.

Making a space/option to comment on each answer will dilute the purpose of KC as many will start providing comments rather than answering the topics. In case of such confusion mentioned in this thread, where things are not very clear on the website of the institute, I would suggest sending a direct message to the editor/author of the answer with the link of the post with a request to recheck the answer in the KC. If you get different information on another link do mention that link also so that things can be verified to correct the answer.

Dr Rao, I don't think there is any bar to giving an answer expressing your doubt. The policy is to allow only one answer but it says that in case you attempt a second answer, your first answer will be updated. The restriction of one answer is because the admin wants the members to post sufficiently detailed answers in one go.

It has been mentioned time and again through threads and private messages that members should, considering the value of KC answers, make it a point to ensure that the answers they give are devoid of any mistakes. Topics raised in the KC section are not general in nature and hence demands that the answers provide accurate and sufficient details.

Another option would be to alert the editors through messages or a forum thread if you come across a glaring mistake or misinformation which you feel needs to be corrected.

I don't think adding too many features to the section will be acceptable to the admin since it will make the section cluttered. Anyway, I will intimate the admin about the suggestion. Let us see what they have to say on this.

Thank you Sankalan and Saji. As members, we may be giving some suggestions. Editors and other top people on the site will think and do as needed. Thanks once again for your feedback.
