Educational abbreviations - a forum fun contest

Last month we had a short story contest in which a good number of members participated. Encouraged and motivated by that I am now presenting a simple fun cum educational contest and hope that members will spare their valuable time to participate in it.

There are so many educational authorities, agencies, institutions, regulatory bodies, examinations and tests, etc and they have some short form or abbreviation by which they are commonly known. One such abbreviation is UGC.

Now what we have to do is to mention them (not more than 4 at a time) as the response to this thread. Please give the abbreviation, its full form, and where it is located. If it has offices in many places then give the place where its headquarters is located.

A member can give as many responses as he can but can give a response only after two other members have given their responses. So, there will be a gap of two other responses between the two responses of a particular member.

The contest will remain open for about a week and close on 10th March 2024 at midnight.

The top contributors will be honored with awards from the ISC virtual award gallery.

Let us start contributing and sharing our knowledge.

Saji, thanks for your suggestion. Yes, it makes sense to give a clickable link to the content about this institute or agency in ISC.
This will facilitate the members or visitors to this forum thread to go directly to the entity and find information about it.
After seeing your advice, Dr Rao has already started doing this and we thank him for the same.

I request all the members participating in this contest to make these institutes/ agencies as clickable links. The earlier responses can also be edited wherever it is possible to do so.
    Thanks.

Although I can easily provide links of the institutes which I have mentioned or was planning to mention, the change of condition in the midst of the contest is not accepted by me.

So, I am not going to participate in this contest farther.

    Best wishes to other participants.

Partha, my initial idea was only to mention the institute abbreviation and full name as it did not occur to me that making it a link will be adding so much value to the content as the visitors (members or surfers) to this page can go to the respective entity and find more details.
Giving links is always for the benefit of the site in terms of increased traffic.
I understand that we should not change the terms & conditions in between but the value addition was too tempting.
Anyway, I respect your feelings and it is surely your prerogative to participate or not.

Umesh Sir (#777297): I have absolutely nothing against this contest. I really appreciate the concept of this contest. The change of rule did not make it tough for me (as a participant) either. But I don't like the change of rule as per the direction of an editor, because this contest is being organised by you and not by the particular editor.

Partha, I have organized this contest under the overall framework and administration of ISC. Editors or the designated persons have full rights to allow it or not allow it or suggest any changes in the interest of ISC. I accepted the suggestion as it sincerely appealed to me.
Anyway, you being a regular contest participant, I am missing you much.

    Umesh,
Thank you for taking up Saji's suggestion. It does help to have those links in the light of Tony Sir's thread about a dip in traffic/revenue, as internal links keep readers within the site.

Partha considered it a condition and rule rather than what it was, namely, a suggestion that the organizer could have chosen not to accept, and he has decided to opt out merely because an editor suggested it. The decision is his prerogative. Let it be. You do not need to explain your stand any further. Let's not take this very useful thread off-track!

It appears that you are having some difficulties in managing the HTML tags and presenting your content neatly. There seem to be some minor glitches.
If you like you can edit your content #777338 and make it more presentable.
If you have any problem you can go to the help section on HTML in this site.

@Umesh it is a minor typo error. As I told you in another thread, I am coming to ISC just to share knowledge and hence typing on the spot. Even in this thread, I am not making it a point to get more points and hence the length is only zero because I typed abbreviations first after editing and then typed the explanation.
