The challenge of making a career for students today

Education system has gone through many reforms and is improving further. A good number of courses are available for the students to choose, study, and learn to make a career. So far so good but the students are burdened under the vast syllabus at one end and pressure from parents and society on the other. In today's tough competitive environment students are under stress and trying to cope up with the situation as per their best of capacities and capabilities.
Though the top meritorious students get a job but there are many who are very near to the top scorers, but getting a good job becomes a herculean task for them.
What are the options for the students today for making a career and settle in their lives? How can the parents or mentors guide them? Is not it a difficult situation?

The world is very competitive these days. The better you perform the better will be your prospectus is the situation. A little difference in the scores obtained in a degree is not going to matter much in getting a job. A person with 89% marks may get the job over the person who obtained 90% marks. It all depends on the performance of the individual in the written test, interview or Group Discussion.
Once you are in a job your career growth depends more on your performance in the job but not your marks or ranks. So a student who completed his studies should concentrate on his preparations for the job interview etc. rather than worrying about the marks he obtained in the qualifying examination. After joining the job he should always concentrate on the job and updating his knowledge in the required field. That will give him an edge over others and may move fast on the ladder.

In our country, there are a large number of students passing out every year and struggling to get a job in the job market. Unfortunately, the number of jobs are very less compared to the number of students coming out of the educational institutions. It is a difficult situations and many young people are getting discouraged by this.
The meritorious and high scorers somehow get jobs in multinational or big companies getting good remuneration but what about the others who pass the exam with average marks.
Many students are going for some sort of self employment but there is tough competition there also as customers are limited but shops and service providers are many.
Govt is trying to locate industries in remote or agricultural areas so that local people can get employment but that has to be taken up at big scales. We have to check the migration of people from remote villages and other underdeveloped areas. Until the job opportunities are generated locally such a large population cannot be provided jobs.

    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

Indeed the present situation is extremely competitive and to get a job of one's choice is not so easy even though one has scored impressive scores. There are several variable factors that need to be takenaccount for grabbing a job. It might happen that a candidate with the less scores in the qualifying examination is finally selected but others with good scores are disqualified due to their disappointing performances in the final selection.
Though markings are important performance before the board is equally vital to the candidate.
The candidate needs to collect all sorts of vital information from the senior colleagues regarding the pattern of the questions asked by the members and other tips to succeed in the test. The aspirant need not be disturbed with the marks secured by others but they should prepare their interview with a cool manner to achieve success finally. It definitely requires a lot of concentration and a positive approach to grab the dream job.
