How can students improve their memory?

Today students have to go through a vast syllabus and they not only have to understand the subject but also memorise many things so that they can reproduce them quickly in the examination hall or can recall them for solving a problem. So, memory plays a vital role in the progress of the student in his journey of acquiring knowledge and learnings.
Memory is said to be an inherent trait of a person and some people are blessed with very good memory. Experts in this area tell us that there are some memory enhancement techniques also that can help the students for sharpening and improving their memories.
Are you aware of any such technique or method for memory enhancement? What are your experiences in this regard?

It is true that memory power differs from individual to indivisual. Some people have very good memory and they retain a lot of information with them and share it with others at an opportune time.
Considering an individual, generally, it is seen that one remembers those things in which one has interest and liking. This is a very important point as it can be used by a student for enhancing memory in an area where he can generate interest by practicing and efforts. Seriousness is another point and if a student is serious about something he might remember it longer.
Parents should observe the areas in which their children have special interest so that they can motivate them to do better in that line even for making a career.
In my opinion no method of memory enhancement will work if student is not having interest in the area.

    Knowledge is power.

One thing that I want to add here is that today there are many supplements and formulas available in the market for memory enhancement and companies are also aggressively marketing these products. We do not know how much effective these products are and the students should not believe in such gimmicks going in the market. As far as memory enhancement or issue of retention of studied material is concerned, there is no substitute of concentrated and repeated studies.
    Knowledge is power.

The author has placed a posting indicating the details which can affect in learning processes of a student. We need to be cautious while going through the texts to be remembered. The first point in this regard is the passion for the subject being dealt with. If there is a touch of interest in the topic, the readers are sure to retain the same for a long.
Then the second point in my opinion is the role of a teacher in conducting the learning session. The teacher must understand the psychology of each and every one participating in the class. A good facilitator must be intelligent enough to understand the difficulties of the individuals and get the same resolved.
The calm atmosphere can enhance the rate of grasping of memory and within a short time frame, the learners can absorb the material.

Memory power differs from person to person. Memory keeps us remembering our past experiences and it will help us to make a plan for our future keeping in mind our past experiences. Menory power may be trait coming by birth. But there are some ways to improve our memory power. If we understand the subject properly we will not forget that. It will be there in the mind and will show up when we want it. Mugging up without understanding will effect your memory power. So understand the subject better.
Health of the individual is another factor that influences the memory of the person. A good brain health will improve your memory power. So have good thoughts, go for exercise, Test your selves. Participate in quiz programmes. These self testing and quizzing will help the person to improve memory power. Plan you studies in such a way that your attention and full concentration will be there always on what you are studying. That will also help in improving your retention capacity.
