Who is more successful - an intelligent person or hard worker?

Some students are very intelligent. They are quick in learning, understanding, and when required are able to reproduce their learnings in a proper form. Some others belong to the average lot and have to do hard work to achieve their objectives. They have to do much study and practice as compared to the intelligent ones.
Intelligent students are smart and make their career and even shift from one job to other frequently for better opportunities. The hard workers also make a career and rise but do move from one company to other after a lot of thinking and generally try to remain in the same organisation.
What is your experience in this regard? Who does better in long run - the intelligent person or hard worker? Are intelligent people more successful? Please share your thoughts.

I would say both are in the advantaged position since both the intelligent ones and the laborious ones have different attributes to achieve their targets. Intelligent people would like to make a systematic plan prior to the execution of the job considering all the vital issues. They would rather consume a little bit more time in the process of planning but once the planning is finalised they would start carrying out their jobs in a cool way to achieve the targets.

In relation to the laborious people, they would apply their past experiences while carrying out their jobs. On the strength of past experiences, they would proceed to the next assignments and no doubt they would benefit.

Who would conquer ultimately is difficult to predict but it would all dependson the the confidence levels of the performers.

An intelligent person who works hard will be sure of success. An intelligent student may have to study for less time than an average student. We all know the hare and the tortoise story. Thinking that the tortoise couldn't overtake it in the race, the hare slept off and lost the race. The moral is to be successful in life one should have the will and should not take it easy till the last minute also. To be successful everybody should work. An intelligent person may have to take less pain. But an average person may have to take more pain. That is the difference.
In my opinion, intelligence may be helpful to some extent but there is no replacement for hard work. This may be applicable to students. But in the office, an intelligent person may have bright chances as he can intelligently manage his boss and always will be in the good books of the boss.

An intelligent person is always having an advantage everywhere because he can learn things quickly and with less efforts can get more in life. Over and above that, if the intelligent person is a hardworking one then there is no limit to the success that he can obtain in his life.
On the other hand a person having average intelligence will have to work hard and devote more hours in study or work to achieve the comparable returns as compared to an intelligent person. These are some general ideas about this issue but at times we see exceptions to this as hard working persons reach better heights than the intelligent ones who are left behind in the race in their over confidence.

    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.
