The girl children need more protection

Eight to ten year old girl children are physically abused with a dangerous regularity. The latest horror has happened in Pondichery .

We need total reform. The moral classes in schools are an absolute must if we need to groom millions of men who would respect all fellow human beings of the opposite sex, irrespective of age. The teachers and the parents also have a big responsibility.

In some semi-urban areas, the boys are treated as superior to girls and there is massive restriction on what the girl child should not do. The actual reality is that the girl children below the age of ten need to be specially protected and taking the help of neighbors to keep an eye on such children should happen as a routine.

Simultaneously, the change of thought processes can and will have a long-term effect as well.

A good post raised by the author. It is true that the girls are prone to abuse and offences in many places in our country and our social system and governance of the administrating system is responsible for it. More vigil is required in the society as well as from the police and other such agencies meant for protection.
Awareness and parents role is crucial in this matter. Moral lessons and moral teachings would also help but main thing is the eradication of evil elements from the society. There are some people under the drug addiction and bad company who offend the girls in isolated and remote places where there is no help around. Another problem is nabbing the culprits and punishing them severely which is being often talked but not done in all the cases. Until these evil people have a fear of system they would not correct their bad ways.

    Knowledge is power.

That is true. Girls 8 to 10 years old should be protected from physical abuse. Girls of all ages require this. But teenage girls will be able to understand what is happening and they may be able to resist or they can revolt. But the girls in the said age group may not be aware of the abuse also. That is why a special is made by the author about the girls in this particular age group.
We are hearing many brutal behaviours of some male persons irrespective of their age and the age of the girl. Law should be made more strict and strong actions should be taken against such people so that such incidents may not repeat. The role of parents and teachers is very crucial. The mindset of boys should be changed about the girls by telling them the importance of morals and values in their lives. Teaching morals in schools is very important and the government also should insist on this.

There seems to be some improvement in this area that is protection of girls from bad elements in the society but still a lot of efforts are required to make our society a safe place for the girls.
There are many factors contributing to these shameful actions going in our society but one thing that is at prominence is lack of good governance and to some extent poverty and unemployment in the youths. As said empty mind is devil's workshop and some of these young people who fall in bad company go to extreme behaviour with the innocent girls.
Goverment has to make more strict laws to punish these people who are offending the young girls in our society.
Parents also have a role to keep track of their girl child and take all care for her well being. The whole society has to fight this menace then only there will be improvement in this area.

    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

The author has presented a very crucial topic. At all costs, the girls need protection from the society. How this could be implemented successfully is the foremost task of a society. If the trend of society is healthy and the kids living in families notice an affectionate relationship between the two genders, It will have a positive effect on the mindset of the kids. Unfortunately, there are a lot of things happening in our society not conducive for a healthy growth of our kids. This can be corrected with the adoption of healthy culture in the society. The kids need to understand the existence of the two genders for mutual understanding and respect. Working unitedly for a common goal is our objective.
At the present stage, we see some sort of violations, harassing the girls for selfish motives and other excesses to a female child. Though these are exaggerations about a girl child the same can be remedied with a change in our perceptions.

It's not only girls and women in general. Abuse of boys is rarely reported. What about them?

And depending on neighbours is not necessarily a good idea. The perp may be the one next door.

The author is right. Nowadays the fear of such nature is increasing though the protecting authorities are telling that such news as fake. Once it is happening to child the problem and worry are only to their parents and family and not to others. This is not only for girl students but boys also.
When the system from parents picking and dropping their children in schools changed by sending them separately the safety in them got vanished.
In another house I have seen a girl stopped her school going in her 9th standard because of the advise from her parents both that not to go to the school with her father's brother, who helped them by taking the child to school and pick up as her mother is a handicapped one.
Still I am seeing some parents are accompanying the school children irrespective of their age and class reading.
The care from parents become must to a high level priority in the present days and if they are not able to do so, they should allow or request other family members to do so.

I agree with the author that the girl children need more protection. The moral values are decreasing day by day in society. Moral education must be imparted from the pre-primary classes if we want to make a healthy society.
    Honesty is the best policy.

No, I don't agree. Girl children don't need more protection but equal opportunity. They will definitely shine out if they get equal opportunity, they don't need anything extra.
