Meritorious students from ordinary educational institutes are lacking opportunities

We have a large number of educational institutions in our country. Some of them are very reputed and the meritorious students directly get a job in multinational companies after doing their courses from these top institutions. But there are many who have very good scores but having done their degrees from mediocre or ordinary institutes they do not have such attractive job opportunities as the meritorious students from the top institution.
Knowledge wise I do not think that they are inferior to anyone and it is only the opportunities that they are not getting. It is a sort of injustice to these otherwise meritorious students. Do you also think so? What are your views on this?

That is a fact. But a meritorious student can excel in his career even though he suffers a little initially in getting a job. Another important issue I noticed is career progress depends more on the nature of the individual and his performance in the job. Their merit in the qualifying exam contributes only to obtaining a job. Later on, individual performance only counts. Financially not sound people are not able to go to very good institutions. So they are joining colleges and institutions where fees are within their reach, These colleges may not have good infrastructure and other facilities. That is making them fall behind. We are seeing many people with MBA qualifications obtained from normal colleges and that degree is of no use to them.
But I know some students who did their UG in a normal college and joined a job immediately after completing the course. They are all now in outstanding positions and earning good amounts.

As far as getting a job is considered the students doing a course from reputed and top institutions are having the advantage because these institutions are having a very good placement network with so many companies who take the students through campus recruitments. The career of these people later will definitely depend on how they perform.
The meritorious students from the ordinary institutions have to struggle a lot for getting a job and only after that they can show their good performance and rise in their career.
So, a strong placement network where companies select the students from the campus and then give them internship training and other guidance is really a great advantage which only those students can have who can pay high amount of fees and other expenses in the top colleges.

    Knowledge is power.

These days, placement opportunities are remote unless the students are from reputed institutions irrespective of the streams they have pursued. The colleges maintain liaison with the employers of different companies and they do drop in the colleges for the campus placements. This is the biggest advantage of the students in getting jobs of their respective requirements.
Hence the students find themselves in an advantageous state when they join such institutions. In case, they are entrapped to an ordinary institution of having no placement facilities through the employers, they will have to struggle hard to get an assignment of their calibre. Sometimes, it might take a couple of years to get a job though it might not be a matching completely.
Hence for the meritorious students, selection of a reputed college is more important than anything else. This needs to be verified at the very initial stage of joining a college.

I have seen graduates from a low grade college making it to the top companies with experience. The problem is the initial package students get just because they passed from a college not known by anyone. A reputed college tag helps graduates to land a hefty package as a fresher and graduates from low grade colleges have to prove themselves to get to that level.

Hence, if someone is a hard-working person he/she will catchup and others will keep regretting the tag of an inferior college. It is not an easy task but many have succeeded with the help of connections and communication skills.

Humble yourself or life will do it for you!

According to me the establishments and big companies are not targeting only educational institutions with repute and name. They just ignoring the ordinary or Government institutions which is the main reason for the question raised by the author. Nobody can denied that our Ex President Dr. Abdul Kalam, ISRO ex chief were coming out from Government Institutions only. Campus interviews are available only in institutions with name and not in all institutions. So, the opportunities are not knocking the doors of students of ordinary educational institutions even though with merit.
HR department of any organisation should see the persons by merit and knowledge without seeing the institutions or caste etc.,
