A coherent team is required for the success of a business entity

A group having a good leader and members following and supporting him generally performs well. It is the duty of the leader to take responsibilities for the decisions as well as guide the members in the overall interest of the group objectives. Another important thing that the group leader must observe is to distribute the benefits accrued through the activities of a group to the group members according to their contributions. Members generally feel satisfied in this type of arrangement.

The problem comes when a member who is having ambitions to become the leader of the group starts announcing his interests openly and also starts criticizing the leader for his way of working. The problem deepens when some other members join that ambitious member and start supporting him.

In most of the cases these activities either break the group in smaller parts or create chaos and disintegrate it. The group loses its strength and is not able to perform in a profitable manner.

This is a simple example but many companies, organisations, and groups have suffered much and lost their business because of this incoherence between the members or stake holders.

Have you observed such things happening in the business world around? What are your thoughts on it?

The author has rightly asserted that we need to have a coherent team so that the targets are achievable in a peaceful atmosphere. This is applicable both on our home front and in our offices. The boss of the team has to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the members. They are to be deployed in such a way that the objectives are fulfilled with the utilisation of their talents. A good boss or the head of the team member would try to improve upon the weaknesses of the members with the different means including the training session if required.
Needless to say that he should be intelligent enough to understand the main objective of the team and should proceed in that direction single - mindedly.

When some people of a team or group are against the main leader then problems start to crop up in any organisation. Frankly speaking these are the moves of some politically motivated people who want to somehow replace the leadership by someone who wants to be in power by hook or by crook.
We are seeing it happening in the political circles day and night where dissident groups oust the earlier leader and take control of the power. So, it is very common today to involve in such activities and take benefit out of the chaos created. These things are not in good taste but are happening in the real world around us.

    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

A team is always better than a single person. Two brains are better than one brain. For the success of any organisation, manpower is essential. It is the main M among the 4 Ms required for running an organisation. These organisations will have a senior person and under him, departmental heads will be there and down then next-level employees. The performance of each employee will have a say in the performance of the organisation. All members should work in one direction focussing on reaching the goals set by the organisation. Instead of that employees work in different directions the ultimate result will never be as expected. So a leader should guide the team working under him in the correct direction so that the expected outcome will come. If all these members are not cooperating the performance of the organisation will suffer. So a coherent team is required for the team's proper functioning.
