The biggest show of democracy on earth has begun

The Chief Election Commissioner of India, Rajiv Kumar, has announced the timeline for the election of India today (i.e. 16th March 2024). An estimated 969 million voters are eligible to cast their ballots. These voters will elect 543 politicians to the Lok Sabha, the lower house of Parliament. Two other members are nominated to make up a total strength of 545 in the lower house of the Parliament.

The election process which started today will continue for 82 days until results are announced on 4th June. Voting will run in seven phases from 19th April 19 to 1st June. After 19th April, the other voting dates are 26th April, 7th May, 13th May, 20th May, 25th May and 1st June. The counting of votes will take place on 4th June 2024.

It is also important to note that the Assembly elections for the states of Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha and Sikkim will also take place along with the Lok Sabha election.

Some states will complete voting on a single day, while some others will have voting in more than one phase. Bihar, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh are three major states where voting will take place in all the seven phases.

From today, 'Achar Sanhita' (Code of Conduct) has come into force. This means that the Central Government and the State Governments won't be able to announce any new scheme or programme till the result is announced.

Let us all take part in the biggest show of democracy in the world. Let us all vote to elect the most deserving member and the most deserving political party.

Yes. The process is started. As mentioned by the author, India is the biggest democracy; hence, this election is the biggest show of democracy. Which party will win and who will be the next Prime Minister will be known on 4th June 2024. Andhra Pradesh state assembly elections will be conducted on 13th May 2024. A big fight between TDP+ and YSRCP is expected.
The role of the election commission is very crucial now. Elections should be conducted peacefully and the voters should be allowed to exercise their rights. Voters should not get deceived by false promises and amounts they get for casting votes. Let us hope we will witness a peaceful and well-conducted election and the best possible candidates will get into the parliament and assemblies.
I Hope India will forward in the coming 5 years under the government that is going to take charge in June this year.

In a democracy, the election process is the most important exercise which decides in whose hands the fate of nation will depend in the coming 5 years.
India is a big democracy and the election results would be seen by many foreign countries with much interest as they have business and trade relations with India that they would like to maintain them in future also.
The Indian voter has to exercise one's vote to bring those people in power who are dedicated to work for the interest of our country and would do efforts for its progress and development. The role of voter is very important and it will also decide the fate of the country in international stage.
Let us see whom to the Indian voters vote this time and give opportunity to run the country.

    Knowledge is power.

In a democratic system election process is the most important activity which decides and selects the leaders to run the country. Every 5 years we have to go through this process to select the Govt and if we select a good team then we all are benefited as the work by a good team will help in the progress of our country and make it prosper.
To that extent it is the duty of the voters to cast their votes in favour of the best of the candidates fighting in the election.
The leaders who are taking part in this election will be promising us so many things but we have to assess them from their work and not from their talks. If we vote to the good person we would reap the benefits.

    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.
