The ill effects of uncontrolled Ego and Anger

Killing of young girls by their fathers for the simple reason that they fell in love with some other caste person, more particularly those belonging to the SC or ST communities, is becoming more common in Tamil Nadu and in a few other places as well.

The root cause is uncontrolled anger and inability to see reason and move on with the times. The poor girl is murdered or the husband is murdered or sometimes both are murdered. In a few cases the guilty have been punished but the root cause is still unaddressed.

We need elders who can see far ahead of their times and enable people to see different viewpoints and also learn about the wider aspects of life. There Is enough evidence to show that when unconditional love unites young minds, everything will fall in place.

Can we control anger through other means like meditation as well?

Ego and anger are mainly for self-destruction. There is a poem in Telugu which means that our is anger our enemy. Ego is also equally bad. In some situations, if we resist our anger and if we can keep silent for some time, our anger will come down and we start thinking positively. That will give good results.
Caste and religion are created by mankind. The Creator always gives equal chances and rights to all people. But unfortunately, we humans created all these differences. If parents are not willing to accept the love of their children, they should not show their anger to them. They should explain the reasons for their unwillingness and still, if they insist I feel elders should accept. Then only the lives of all the people will be without any problems.
Diverting our thinking process from the issue that is causing anger will help us a lot. Meditation is one way to control anger and reading books is another way.

Yes, Meditation is a great way to control anger. It is like training of our mind to stay calm and not get overwhelmed by emotions. By practicing meditation regularly, we learn to stay focused and relaxed, even when things are tough. With time, meditation helps you become more patient and understanding which can prevent conflicts and violence.

If we teach meditation in schools and communities, we can create a more peaceful and accepting society where people respect each other's differences and don't resort to violence over things like who someone falls in love with other communities.

Anger is not the solution to correct an uncontrollable situation. Sometimes we opine that the more aggressive and ruthless we are, the more it would be better. The other party would calm down with such a stand but how far this policy would work out in the same way as conceived is not certain. We might err in our judgment.,
The author has provided us an example how young girls become blind in their love affairs. They cannot analyse whether they should go ahead with their existing plan to marry the boy of the other cast or refuse the same altogether. Unfortunately refusal from the girl side for tie - up the knots, too, has not yielded favourable result. They become victims of the other side.
It is really a grim situation. I think we should inculcate a healthy culture in a family to analyze the issues in a more critical way. The parents should be the party to correct their kids.
Such an exercise would create a lasting solution in the alleviation of bad situation to a great extent. Anger is not the solution to remedy adverse situations.

Some people are so much attached to their cast and beliefs that they can blindly do anything for that. This is not only happening in our country but is happening all around the world.
People who have come out from the envelope of their casts and got modernised in their living generally do not resort to such ill practices.
Killing young girls just like that is a demon act and is punishable under the law. If these people are so much concerned about that then they should take care in bringing up their children and keep them away from the unwanted acquaintances.
These problems cannot be mitigated until people come out of their cast obsession and become a bit of cosmopolitan in their living and social mixing.

    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

This is a very complex situation. There are issues related to the religious and cast feelings in the minds of some people so much that they can go to any extent in order to support their feelings for their religion or cast.
These are some social bindings that many people are keeping faith and under its pressure going to take such unwanted actions.
For this we have to bring a great change in our social system which is deeply rooted in our religious practices. Definitely not an easy thing to do but there is no other way.

    Knowledge is power.

I heard that Yoga is one tool that helps us maintain cool even in difficult situations and we will be away from anger if we practice yoga regularly. Every day if we practice Pranayama and Nadi Siddhi Kriya in the mornings, we will become healthy also. So one should practice yoga without fail.
Another way is to spend time with children. Once we sit with kids and start playing with them we will forget all our worries and we will have a pleasant day. Personally many times I experienced this. Anyhow, reading epics like Ramayana and Mahabharat etc will also make us peaceful.

Our India is a country soaked with culture through ethics and principles through different religions where all religions are telling one and same truth. In Hinduism there is a stress for living of human should be followed with certain norms and regulations. It was notified with some characters which we should never ignore as some dramatic characters but should understand the moral dealt with such characters which we should follow in our daily life to earn a peaceful and pleasant life. Through Ramayana, Rama followed His father's words, further lived as a man without seeing other ladies, Bharatha and Lakshmana followed brother's words. Sita and Urmila lived as a role model to ladies. Ravana's and Surpanaka's characters are models for one who should not put his/her eyes on other gender on any occasion. Ravana, a great king with great knowledge and power but lost everything because of the ego and evil thought of thinking another person's wife.
In Mahabharat, King Dhuryodhana's character depicts as an example for human should live without anger and vengeance.
In Christianity the Love and Perseverance are stressed by Jesus Christ
In Islam, Nabi stressed the Love and loyal life in all his life.
Bhagavan Sai stressed the Love others without any bias.
Guru Nanak stressed the Love as most important tool for human life to cross the life and death cycle.
So, Meditation and prayers are mode of keeping ourselves with love on others by setting aside the ego and anger.
