The powerful tool in our hands - 'Observation'

Observation is a powerful tool in our hands and if we observe things happening around us minutely and precisely then we would come to know a great deal of things about the world around us. Simply observation will not do as after it we have to ask questions like - why it is so?
For example in our area the local buses going to the local railway station were generally crowded especially during office hours in the morning and evening. For last 6 months I am observing that crowd is reduced and we are getting a seat in these buses easily. I was just wondering about this change and just casually discussed it with my friends here. I came to know that there was a good sale of electric scooters in our town and people are preferring it over the local bus.
Like that there are many observations that we make and then get answers for them. Have you noted this happening? What is your experience?

Having studied Psychology as a major subject, I can say that observation is one the most crucial element required for analysis.
Those who have read stories by Arthur Conon Doyle and Agatha Christie must have noticed that their respective detectives Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot were great in their observations and analysed many things at the spot itself. At the end when they reveal their analysis the reader is well satisfied and feels contented with such detective or 'who done it' stories.
Careful observation is the strength of many people and they can frequently read beyond the lines. A keen observer is able to see what a common person misses while glancing at things in a careless way.

    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

    Observations are very important.
Only when the great scientist Sir Isaac Newton observed an appeal down on to the earth, he started and came out with the concept of gravitational force which is the basic point of physics.
Doing an experiment is to observe what is happening so that we can come out with a logic or theory. But many people do things mechanically and never put their mind to correlate the observations with the known facts so that anew theory can be evolved.
Observations are very important. Keeping our mind and soul on the happenings around and observe the patterns it will become easy for us to anticipate the outcomes. Even when we play cards we should observe what are the cards that are getting discarded by others players. That will give us an idea about the cards that we are going to get from our neighbour and we can change our game accordingly.

What the author has highlighted is correct. Observation can teach us numerous techniques - be it an industrial process or otherwise. However, the vital point is that we must have a passion for learning such techniques.
In that sense, I never leave any situation of my interest. In visits to numerous cities I enjoy the places with a close observation and enjoy the historical places and other sites of the cities. In the plant itself I have learnt a lot of operations including the crane - operations. Initially, I was hesitant and somewhat nervous but later, I overcame such a weakness. We need not go on asking questions always but the process of observation would reveal numerous mysteries which will ultimately help us in the process of learning.

Observation is like a good tool showing us the way in life's twists and turns. It helps us understand things better, find patterns, and make sense of everyday stuff. But, sometimes we can get it wrong because of our own ideas or not looking closely enough. It takes time to really see things clearly. Still, if we keep at it, paying attention can really help us figure things out and make smarter choices.

Indeed, observation is a powerful tool for gaining insights into the world around us. Noting changes or patterns in our surroundings can lead to valuable discoveries and understanding.
In your example, which is based on your observation around you. You observed a decrease in the crowdedness of local buses, prompting you to inquire further.
Through discussions with others, you uncovered the reason behind this change the increased use of electric scooters as an alternative mode of transportation.
