    Which is your favourite book?

Books are a great source of information, knowledge, and by reading books we come to know about many things existing in this world. There is a variety of information - History, Geography, Culture, Places, Fiction, and many more.
While reading various books some books leave a great impression on our minds. We even read them multiple times. Have you read any such book? Is that your favourite book?

This question is really very difficult for me to answer. I read different books of different genres. I have my own favourites in every genre, which cannot be mentioned here.

However, for the last fifteen days or so, I am not being able to read anything because of my gruelling training schedule along with heavy workload in office.

I am not a regular book reader but in past I have read a few books. Some books were very interesting and thought provoking.
I found one of the books 'The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success' by Deepak Chopra quite interesting and motivating.

    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

Though I have read many books to know the ancient culture of our society and to know to the cultural diversity in the past, I have a lot of Hindi Novels such as Godan, Nirmala, Prem Prasaun and many more written by great Hindi Novelist Late Premchand. He had a great power to write honestly regarding the occasions of the past society.
Once you start any novel created by such a well - known writer, you will not leave the same unless you finish such a volume.
Late Mahadevi Verma, Late Bhagwati Verma, Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, Maithali Saran Gupt, Sarad Joshi, Ravindra Tyagi and many more were my favourite authors having represented the culture of the past days.
Even I was impressed with the creations of the late Ravindra Nath Tagore and each novel of this great composer such as Naukadubi, Gora has impressed me hugely. Geetanjali was his best creation consisting of a series of poems received a novel- prize in 1913. Then the creations of Mahasweta Devi are unparalleled.
Listing of many more writers will make this posting exhaustive but the way they have carried their creations are unforgettable.

I was reading books regularly in earlier days. Especially I was reading frictional books and I was enjoying those books very nicely. But later on gave up reading those books and much of my time was going into reading books related to my study and work. Nowadays I am using Google search to read various subjects and work-related topics. Sometimes I read epics of the Hindu religion like Ramayana, Maha Bharat and Bhagavath. I purchased Telugu versions of these books and read them whenever I get some time.
I can't say a single book is my favourite book. There are many books which I like. I read one book in Telugu written about Chandrasekhara Saraswathy Swamy of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham. The title of the book in Telugu is " Nadache Devudu" ( Walking God). Many incidents in which this swamiji has helped various people to come out of their problems and I like that book and try to read whenever possible.

Many people have favorite books or books that have left a lasting impression on them. These could be novels that resonate with their personal experiences, non-fiction books that have provided valuable insights, or even children's books that have shaped their early years.

Favorite books often vary from person to person, depending on individual interests, preferences, and life experiences. What may be a favorite book for one person may not have the same impact on another. However, the beauty of literature lies in its ability to connect with readers on a personal level and evoke emotions, spark imagination, and inspire reflection.

I like to read Value educational books. This is because, Value education encompasses the teaching and instilling of principles, morals, and ethics that guide individuals towards responsible behavior and good citizenship. It emphasizes the development of virtues such as honesty, compassion, integrity, and respect for others.

Since my college days I used to go to library of many kind. There I have pleasure in reading different types of books which normally we never heard or read or even to buy on our own.
Since then I have no favourite book for me as I love books of all sort of subjects.
The library is the only place where we can quench our book reading thirst. C. N. Annadurai, our Tamil Nadu Ex Chief Minister told in one meeting that, " by sitting with a book we can travel around the world through the book".

Tamil writer Sandilyan told once "When we sit to read a book with involvement, we can enjoy the situation, surroundings etc., explained by the author on his story" This is really correct as we can enjoy ourselves as riding in a horse when we read the hero is riding his horse.

I have the habit of reading books in earlier days but now I no longer read many books My son is book addicted and he reads book regularly. I asked him this question to my son and he told me that his favourite book is "Attitude is Everything" by Jeff Keller which is nonfiction and "The Alchemist' by Paulo Coelho. The first book is his favourite because it teaches the value of positive thinking, and different techniques to think positively and also it teaches that your attitude is your identity and your attitude must be positive if you want to succeed.

The second book is his favourite because it is a fictional story of a shepherd who has a big dream to become successful and the story contains many twists and turns with some magical things. But it teaches you many lessons of life, the story of Sheperd teaches you not to give up, To always chase your dream, and to have faith that you will succeed one day for sure.

    Honesty is the best policy.

I like read books on investing. I just read 'The Unusual Billionnaires' by Saurabh Mukherjea. I really liked it. It taught me a lot about how rich people in India invest. The way it was written was nice and easy to understand. I enjoyed it a lot and learned a lot.

What I liked most was how the writer explained things. He made hard stuff simple. The stories in the book were cool and made it fun to read. They also taught me stuff about investing.

I also liked how the book talked about making money for the long term, not just quick money. It said being patient and understanding businesses is important. That made sense to me.

The book also talked about times when investors messed up. It was good to know even rich people make mistakes. It made me feel better about my own mistakes.

Overall, 'The Unusual Billionnaires' is a good book for anyone who wants to know how rich people invest in India. It's easy to understand and teaches important stuff. I think everyone who wants to get better at investing should read it.

    Regards,

    Sunil
