Have you ever had any health problem after celebrating Holi festival?

Holi is a festival of colours and people enjoy it by rubbing and pasting colours on each other. Generally these colours are containing some chemicals which are not good for our health. Chemicals such as lead, mercury, chromium, cadmium, and asbestos are quite common in these colours.
After the festivals many people complain of skin irritation or eye problems. Some people complain of respiratory tract infection, conjunctivitis, and even ocular damage.
What is your experience? Have you ever had any problem after celebrating Holi festival?

We have been celebrating Holi for a long but never had any health issues after celebrating Holi. We used to celebrate with family members and also with office colleagues. We used to have a lot of fun on that day. But we used to be within our limits and never went for drinks. So we have not experienced any health issues.
But, I had a terrific Holi day in the year 1995. We celebrated Holi that day morning in Warangal. In the afternoon I received a call from my Siste from Vizag. She informed me that another sister staying in Vizag met with an accident and she was unconscious. Immediately we started to Vizag in a train and we were in tension throughout the day. Those days no mobile phones were in use and contacting them was a big problem. We struggled with that sister for about 10 days and then she was discharged from the hospital and now she is alright.
On every Holi festival, we remember this incident and thank God for saving my sister from a serious head injury in an accident on the Holi festival.

Once I had some eye irritation after playing Holi with friends and relatives but that became alright after taking an eye drop for a few days. I have seen some people having throat infection or sore throat after the Holi festival. Probably that is due to the colour dust and chemicals mixed in it.
Nowadays many people are preferring to play Holi with natural colours and avoid chemical colours. That would be a better way to enjoy this festival.

    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.
