Cricketing talent from tier 2 towns is a huge plus
The recent news that a number of recent success stories of men who have transformed themselves into promising cricketers, at least at the Ranji trophy level, are from the tier 2 and even tier 3 towns. The most well known of these at the national level, is Umesh Yadav.This only proves that Cricket is now becoming such an important sport and since IPL is a national craze, the IPL has opened the doors for anyone to knock at the doors of the selectors, who would sit and watch the developments.
The hitherto rule of big city influence on development of the biggest cricketers has been effectively broken and it is up to the respective States to offer some support to the budding talent, particularly where the men are from poor families.
Well, the revolution seems to have just begun...
