A Sunday afternoon fun word game

I invite all the members to play a simple fun word game starting today (Sunday) afternoon. What we have to do is make a word starting from the last letter of earlier word and also give its meaning.

Rules of the game are very simple - do not give names of places or people or common nouns, give the correct spelling (American or English), and wait for at least one other response before your next response.

If words are ending in x, y, or z then you can give a word starting with them but you can alternatively choose to start a word from any of the letters as - a, p, t, n, and m.

I start the game with the word - CLAIM (meaning - ask something as one's right).

Tableaux is a noun and plural of the word Tableau.
Meaning of Tableaux - picturesque scenes from stories or history represented by a group of motionless figures, models, sculptures, etc. Tableaux or Jhakiyan as they are called in Hindi are very much associated with Republic Day celebrations in our country, where every state and UT sends a tableau representing their culture and way of living.

Thanks to all the members who actively participated in this fun word game and utilised their latter half of Sunday in this creative activity. I also thank ISC to provide a platform for the same.
We came to know a few new words as well as revised some rarely used words and overall it was worth the time spent.

Now the thread is already getting too long and I request to the forum editor(s) to lock this thread.

The contest was good but very elementary. Umesh Sir could have added some more conditions to make it more complex. For example: The participants could have been asked to form words which end with a vowel.

  • #777935
A good game and members actively participated. As suggested by Partha Sir, the author might have asked the participants to make one or two sentences using the word they suggested so that we would remember that word for a long.
