Old or senior people should be extra careful while visiting ATMs

Many seniors or old people are visiting the nearby ATMs for withdrawal of cash from their bank account. It is alright but there have been many incidences where some people take advantage of the ignorance or less alertness of the old people and took advantage by withdrawing money immediately after the action of the old person as screen was still alive with earlier transaction. There are many other ways in which these fraud people operate and trick the old people.
It is necessary that old people should be aware of these dangers and should take some family member with them when they want to go to ATM.
What are your experiences in this regard?

It is rather a valuable suggestion from the author's side. There are some public taking advantage of the presence of old men operating ATM systems They would come forward in the disguise of help. Even some senior people don't recognise their intents and fall prey to their clever tactics. They could respond in a friendly tone if the uncle would like to have any help in the course of the withdrawal of money. Even the fraudster can create a panic that his bank - account could be closed in case of operation of the same wrongly. The senior citizens might behave nervously in his presence but ultimately are aware of his bank - account and PIN to be utilised in heavy withdrawal of money once the senior citizen moves from the ATM.
The senior people should firmly object to such proposals and prior to his exit, he should press the canceled bottom to avoid such wrong transactions.

It is a very important as well as a serious matter and the family members should be alert whenever an old person from the family is going out for any job what to say of taking money from ATM. Old age is vulnerable in many respects and when there are so many dangers lurking outside one has to be very cautious.
One of my close relative lost some money while transacting withdrawal from ATM. What happened is as soon as he collected the money one young boy pushed him aside telling that he was in a hurry and wanted to withdraw. My relative took it normally but when he reached home he found an additional SMS in his mobile informing about a withdrawal that was made after he left the ATM.
He made a police report also but that young boy was never found.

    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

That is true. These days many cyber crimes are increasing. Many news we are hearing. So all must be very careful. At the same time, senior citizens should take all precautions as they are not very conversant with digital money transactions. I avoid going to the ATM, generally. I transfer money to my son and when he visits the ATM he will draw from his account and give it to me. Only when there is an emergency I will go and withdraw.
The actual problem for senior citizens is their remembrance. Sometimes they forget certain issues and that may lead to unnecessary issues. It is better to use digital apps and do transactions rather than withdrawing very frequently money from the bank. I started using Gpay even for very small amounts like Rs.10/- and Rs.20/ also. These days vegetable vendors, fruit vendors and street vendors also have QR codes for money transactions.

Yes the old members are vulnerable and they should be careful or some one should go with them to withdraw money from ATM . But these days the things have become so worse than even the young ladies are also targetted, lots of complaints are heard that their gold ear rings or chain, mobile is snatched.

It's high time people should be cautious while they are on the road or in the public places as police cannot control everywhere
