    Let us celebrate good work done by Government school teachers

    From time to time, there have been reports of some good Government school teacher doing some great work in some part of Tamil Nadu.

    This has been done on a big basis, by individual teachers, who have even spent their own money in improving the state of affairs in some Government School or the other. Members may also report such good work done. For example, for the plus two students, one teacher has gone about mobilizing some community support to help the students prepare for the NEET examination. Another has spent her own money to develop a smart class room.

    Another teacher has pleaded with local rich people, including some industries, to donate their old computers to the school. The list goes on and on. Have you seen such good work in your own area?

    Please do give a detailed account of all such work done by Government school teachers.

    Some such good government teachers try their best to educate the students properly and in the right direction. In addition to that they will be helping separate students who deserve and need some help.
    In our native place, there was a language teacher who used to have a very down-to-earth life. He was unmarried and used to stay alone in a small room near the school. He was spending mother half of his salary to help poor students. He used to pay school fees for many students whose parents could not afford the same. He used to bring additional food to the school and used to give it to some of the teachers or staff who could not get their food. He was giving books, pens, and pencils to poor students. Many students who received help from Him are in very big positions now. All such students who received help from him facilitated him in the school and gave him some money as a gift. He immediately donated the same to the school saying that he was getting a Pension which is sufficient for him to manage his life.

    Such great work done by the Govt school teachers in Tamilnadu is really praiseworthy. It is going beyond their duties in a constructive and helping manner.
    When I was in my school there was a teacher who often helped the poor students by paying their fees or arranging school dress for them. He was very popular and had a great respect in the society.
    Today we are not seeing such teachers around. Today everything is commercialized and teachers are only bothered to earn money by teaching or coaching.
    There are some rich people who are ready to help the poor students only thing is some teacher or other agency should coordinate in the matter honestly so that the money reaches the needy person and not siphoned away by a middleman.
    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

    I am not aware of any teacher doing such a helpful job for the poor or needy in our area. The example from Tamilnadu is very impressive and all of us whether we are teachers or employed elsewhere, should learn from this and extend help to the needy students as per our capacities.
    The role of teacher is very important and if one takes interest in providing help to the poor students through the aid from rich people or industries then the role becomes a great effort and great example to be followed by others.
    Knowledge is power.

    The teachers are the true guides always inspiring their students to do their best. They are the true motivators and stimulators shaping the careers of pupils. Their service does not pay them to due reward from their management for their honest effort.
    However, certain motivated teachers are helping the students living in their areas to approach them in case of difficulty. They go from one place to the other to reach out to their students to alleviate their doubts pertaining to their studies without asking for a extra remuneration for their help. Such teachers have the mobile no of each student to confirm their progress. On hearing the positive achievements of these students, they enjoy true happiness which money cannot buy.

    Normally in everybody's mind the status of Government School Teachers are with less mark till they know about them personally. As the mindset about them like this, nobody interested to know about the happenings in the Government schools. In Northern part of Chennai, I am telling before three years, a teacher found one of his student felt tired during the class. On enquiry he, the teacher, came to know that he was not taking breakfast due to his poverty. Immediately he made a query of similar students in his class. On obtaining permission from the Headmaster, he start to bring breakfast for such students from his house. Later the Headmaster called him and other teachers to find out the similar students in all class, then the HM himself offered some amount and by seeing this all other teachers offered some amount to provide food for all such students,
    Offering fund for feeding and education of others has a high value always.
