Yes there is an incident when I was 12 years old. I was going to some party with my parents on two wheeler. At some shop my father stopped the vehicle to purchase something. I was running towards the shop and fell in to the drain. I told my parents to take me back to home but they didn't , they took me to the venue instead .

I wore the clothes of my cousin which were loose and large . I stayed at their home and didn't went to the place where the party was organised and after the party was over. We all went home at the night itself. But that was very embarrassing as everyone was asking what happened to me.

Such things happen in one's life once in a while but remain in the memory for a long time.
When I was doing my UG course then I was always reaching the college in time and was never late for my classes. Our classes started by 11 in the morning and my first class was of Psychology subject. Our psychology professor was very strict and banged the students left and right if some students made some mistakes or created indiscipline in the class. At the same time he praised the students who were attentive and disciplined. Generally we had a pin drop silence in his class.
One day I became late by a few minutes and class of Psychology already started. I was in a fix whether to attend the class or not. With great courage I knocked the door and entered the classroom. Our professor saw me and said that he did not expect from the disciplined students coming late in the class. I was standing there getting embarassed. It was the first time that I was standing in front of all the students and waiting for the professor to allow me to take my seat. Those moments seemed to take a long time for me and finally when he asked me to take my seat I felt greatly relieved.
This incident is as fresh in my memory as if it happened yesterday only.

    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

Yes. There will be some such situations in everybody's life. I also had many such. I was in my 2nd year of B.Sc and studying in Kakinada. A lecturer who had to take two sessions was on leave. But the third session was there. I and one of my friends thought of going to a matinee show. My friend took out his cycle and we both started going towards the cinema hall. We never knew that there was a police station. Those days travelling two persons on a bicycle is punishable. In a hurry, we were crossing the station. Police there caught hold of us and kept the cycle in the station. We were in a fix. My friend's uncle works in SP's office. We both walked down to that office and narrated the entire episode to him. He was very angry with us and asked us to wait in his office and talk to that police station. staff and somehow arranged to get back that cycle. But whenever I remember that incident I feel guilty and get embarrassed.

I have had several moments of facing the embarrassing moments but I would narrate one which I think is the most embarrassing one. I got an invitation from one of my friends in my department requesting me to join along with my family to attend the the birth - day party of his son.
I was on the general shift and reached my house at 6 pm and I was in a hurry to reach my friend's house at around 7 pm. On the way, I had to purchase a gift - item for the three - old baby from a nearby store. Finally, my wife chose a dress that looked very elegant to be presented on the occasion. What I noticed that my purse was missing at that moment. It was really an awkward juncture. The owner of the shop realised my situation. Ultimately, he made the situation comfortable to take the article requesting me to pay the same the next time. From that time and onward, I ensure the availability of purse always.

Let me also share the embarrassing moments that I had encountered in my life. Frankly speaking there are many but one that is still fresh in my memory deserves the narration.
About 51 years back, when I was doing my PG, I went for an educational excursion along with the classmates and one of our professors.
We returned as scheduled and by the time I reached my rented room it was late evening. My neighbour told me that one of my relatives asked him to convey me that next day morning a Puja was there in his house and I should also attend.

I was very much tired and I had to cook some food for the dinner and by the time I slept it was almost past midnight.
Anyway when I awoke the outside light gave me the indication that it was morning time and weather from the window appeared cloudy.
I got up and did not waste any time and within 10-15 minutes I left my room and took the short cut to the relative's house which was hardly at 10 minutes walk.
When I reached there it looked deserted and there was no sign of Puja but my relative was sitting on the front verandah and offered me a chair nearby.
Few minutes later his wife came out and asked me why I did not come there in the morning?
I quickly realised that it was evening time and I overslept last night!

    Knowledge is power.
