Let me also share the things that motivate me. When I was in my school then I was considered a shy person as well as a studious student. Teachers liked me and that motivated me to prepare for the class beforehand and answer if teacher asked me a question or any question that he threw open to the students. Obviously, I was benefited by that and scored well.
As I had less number of friends and my outdoor activities were also less I had more time to spare for studies or reading books.
I was very lucky that we had a big Govt district library in our town and my father took me there and made me a member. It was free and I was allowed to take two books at a time. The library had an extensive collection of books right from children books to translated books of the great renowned authors of various countries.
I started reading the children story books and the journey of reading continued till my UG completion and then as I had to move to a different town for my PG, the reading habit got a break.
By that time I developed a habit of buying old books from some places where they were available very cheap and my reading habit continued albeit in a slow pace.
What I found was that more I read more I was motivated to read because there were so many questions coming in my mind which I wanted to get answers and at that time we did not have anything like internet to get quick answers on the go.
When I joined ISC, I found a section 'Ask Experts' and I found that I was able to answer some of the questions easily there. This motivated me to read more about the questions which I was not able to answer. Then I tried to answer almost every question there. That section is now more and less replaced by the Knowledge Centre. I can say that 'Ask Experts' section motivated me much and contributed in a great way to my learnings.
I am also motivated by any challenge for creative work from kitchen to the writing table.
In ISC, I made it a point to participate in each and every contest irrespective of getting award or not. Anyway, I was able to get a good number of rewards for that.
Knowledge is power.
