Which indoor games do you like to play?

In earlier days, it was a common practice to play indoor games with the children in the family especially on holidays and all the family members enjoyed it and had a great fun. Today it might not be so common as other indulgences are there but still in many families it is common to play games in spare time.
There are many games like Ludo, Snake & Ladder, Carrom, Monopoly, Hangman, Chess, Scrabble, Playing Cards, and many others which are well known and many new games are also introduced which are also becoming popular.
Do you play some indoor games with your family or friends during the spare time? What are those games? Can you share your experiences?

Even today also we play some indoor games in our house and all the members of the family will actively participate. We have carroms, cards, chess board and housy game also. Some of the family members go for cards.
As of now, we are all in our native place. The total gathering in our house is about 25 persons. Some of us play cards, some of us will play cards, some will go for carroms and some go for chess. But all will play housy games at night.
Generally, we all gather once or twice a year in our native place. Telugu New Year is celebrated in our native place grandly. So we all make it a point to gather here and stay together for at least one week. During this period we all play these indoor games.
Normally also, when we stay in the house we play some indoor games in our house without fail. The most sought-after indoor game in our house is Playing cards.

During my school days we played Ludo and Monopoly. Those two were the most common among our friends. In the house we only played Ludo.
Later as I learned Chess, I used to play it with my brother who also quickly learned it. Then there was a long break and only after my PG when I settled in a job we started playing cards in my spare time.
At that time we bought the game of Scrabble and it was hit in our family. We learned a lot of new words during that time. It is a very interesting game and helps in strengthening English spellings and learning a new word is always an exciting thing.
Thereafter we started spending more time in internet and the frequency of playing dropped down and now we are playing these games occasionally when we have a gathering of family members.

We used to play card, carrom, ludo, chess, antakshari and many more indoor games. It was because we were not allowed to go out to play in summer in day.

But now the craze for these games has died because of the introduction of internet and mobile phone. Now there are lots of new games which may be downloaded on phone and can be played. Most of the kids of this generation like to play video games and not traditional games which we used to play.

BGMI, temple run are few games fascinated by the kids now a days. I remember in our time we didn't had computer or smart phone so had to stay at home to play other games.

I used to play table tennis also. We had a setup in our neighbors home and we used to play there till late night. I still cherish those memories of playing games.

I like Table Tennis most and it's my favorite game. I also regularly play Indoor Shuttle Badminton and Carroms. Also a very good player of Chess but could not continue as I was suffering from migraine head-ache.

Anyway, your thread brought me the old memories of playing TT, Shuttle, Carroms and Tennikoit , all singles, doubles and mixed doubles too in our University days.
