    Self-discipline has no substitute!

Self-discipline is a unique trait and some people have it. Self-discipline is a control that one has imposed on oneself and there is no external force that is making him to do so. For example if a person is studying for 5 hours at a stretch willingly and no one is forcing him to do so then it means that he is serious towards his studies and doing it with his own control on time and other schedules. Experts in the subject believe that a person can not have self-discipline just like that until he does sincere efforts for inculcating it. It takes time to develop such good traits.
People having self-discipline are generally successful in their lives and achieve their goals mainly because they are focused and constantly work to reach their goals. In simple words, self-discipline means not to get distracted and remain focussed.
Self discipline is a great characteristics of a person and there is no substitute for it. Do you agree?

We cannot deny what the author has indicated. Without the self - discipline the objective of what we dream of achievement cannot be realised. The performer needs to carry out homework on how best the target conceived can be attained. He needs a lot of concentration, self - discipline and other points to be thought of in the fulfilment of the task.
If the parents or other well - wishers are taking the initiative on his behalf, it might become counter- productive. A free - hand is a must on the part of guardians to the planned target set by the aspirant.

Self-discipline is not an easy thing. Very few people have this. What I understand is that for this a conducive atmosphere is required during the growing up period of a person. That is the time when a child can pick up good habits if he is guided correctly by the parents. So, parents have a great responsibility and duty in this regard because they are the driving force in the life of a child for getting such good traits embedded in life since so early.
Just to mention, my father was a very disciplined person and we were always alert and never did anything that made him angry. During that we picked up some good habits and we realise today that those habits were a great acquisition in our lives and great asset to us and helped us to progress in our lives and also helping in struggling for making a career.
I strongly believe that living in a disciplined atmosphere helps us in picking up some good habits which are our great assets throughout the life.

    Knowledge is power.

I agree with the author. Self-discipline is very essential for a person who wants to do well in his/her life. Self-discipline is nothing but having self-control. It is the human tendency to get attracted to easy things rather than doing tasks that make us more learned. Getting first class in our studies is very difficult Going to a movie with a friend with the money given by the parents is easy.
I decided to study and sat with a book. Examinations are fast approaching. A friend came and asked me to go with him for a movie. If I am self disciplined person I will tell him that I have to study as the examinations are fast approaching. If I am not a self-disciplined person I will shut the book and go with him. Many people talk about discipline but they never think about their self-discipline. One of the examples of such instances is elders asking children not to spend time with mobiles but spending their own time on mobile phones.

My father is the best example of self-discipline. From his younger days, he set the parameters for his living style and never deviated from those parameters. Eating two times daily on time without any deviations, Walking daily 3 km without fail, not eating junk food, going to bed on time and getting up early. His food habits are also very specific. He has excellent health except for his anxiety neurosis. He completed his 91st year but is still able to manage on his own within the house. So if we have self-discipline we can enjoy good health and there will be many other benefits.

Yes, self-discipline is the key factor for our success in life or keeping good health. You should know to draw a line to maintain discipline. For example, you are attending a party and the number of items may tempt you to take more food and later on, the situation may be different due to the impact on our digestive system. If you are not an alcoholic, you need not take it under pressure, even the other end may be an important person. Here, the self-discipline or control matters.

I agree with the author totally. Self discipline should normally dealt with any human. Without minding about others we have to do our duty and disciplinary matters to the major extent.
I used to see a person who travelling with me while going to my office, that he just wantonly put his bus ticket at the dust bin kept near the Bus Stop once getting alighted from the bus. Since then I used to keep all the bus tickets in my pant packet and drop them in the dustbin once reached the house area.
In the story of Vikramaaditya, a sub story was read by me. Once the King wanted to chek the self discipline of his citizens, kept a tall and huge pot on the main place as if no one can see inside. He announced that everybody should pour a glass of milk on the next day within a limited hour. Citizens were did accordingly. One the completion of the hour proclaimed the king himself came there with his associates and make the pot fell down as if the contents came out in the presence of public. The whole container has a little milk but full of water. It denotes that everyone pour water instead of milk in the thought of who can notice. Every person on the road felt ashamed and bowed their heads.
