Some internet sites are charging a monthly fee for contributing content in it

While browsing through the internet I came across some internet sites that charge a monthly fee from the authors who are publishing their content in it. Some of those writers are getting paid for their work as per the advertising or other revenue models but everyone will not be able to recover the monthly fee paid and make some earning over and above that.
These sites are charging a nominal amount of about $5 per month from the members who are publishing their content in it. Have you come across such sites? Has anyone worked in such a site? Can you share your experience?

No, I have not worked for such types of sites. I have published my articles at some other sites but these sites are free and also provide revenue. Let us wait for the response of other members whether they have contributed to these types of sites. I am also eagerly waiting for the response of other members.

No. I have not come across such sites so far and I never worked for such sites. I worked for some sites where we can place our content but the site may not pay us any amount. I feel the author might have mentioned the names of such sites so that we can go there and verify.
One important thing is that there are some digital scientific magazines and journals. People working and doing research on any of the subjects related can publish their work in those journals. When I was doing my PhD I published some papers in those journals. Those days there were no charges. But these days there are some journals online which will charge some money to get your article published and you will not get any amount afterwards also from them. If any person wants to read the full paper he has to pay the required fee and download the full paper. No money will be paid to the author and the money will go to the publisher only.

I am not on any such site. I believe they are fake sites who will pay you for sometimes and then will close their operation.

I remember there was a site "Bubblews" around 7-8 years back which used to pay it's members handsomely. Many of my online friend earned $200 per month from that site. Even I earned $100 from that site in a month but then suddenly one day they stopped paying their members and shut their site.

So no site is permanent on internet , it's better never to invest your hard earned money on them. If they are free to join then you may join it and if you don't like their earning rates you may leave them.

Sanjeev, you are very right. We have to be careful and cautious while working in these sites. Some of them could be the genuine ones but how to find that?
Some years back I started undertaking surveys in a site. Prima facie it appeared a popular site but once my earnings reached near the payment level, I found that I was not able to login and then I tried a lot but could not connect with them. Now I am not finding it in the internet though so many new survey sites have emerged.

Survey sites are not good at all. I never tried them. There are many forum sites which pay for the posts but the pay rates are so low. The truth is they don't pay you very little for your hard work.

My experience with survey sites is not good. They appear so lucrative to work and make some part time easy money but the truth is that a majority of them are fake. Then there are a large number of data entry sites which also promise some payments for online data entry but I did not venture in that area and not sure whether they are worth the time spent.
There are some avenues for making money in internet like through YouTube channels but the main issue is traffic because over the time the earning rates in YouTube are also decreased significantly. Until the channel provides a unique content traffic would not be generated and that is what many youtubers are facing and struggling to compete.

Internet is now a crowded place and everyone thinks that they can earn by writing. There are platforms where people are now charging a monthly or yearly fee to become a member to enjoy revenue sharing benefits. There is free membership too available on such site, but they don't get the revenue share. I don't think it's worth paying for such a membership because there is a lot of crowd already writing on such websites. Instead of spending such amount you can start your own niche blog and see how you can utilise your blogging skills. If it works you will earn more than writing on someone's website.
Humble yourself or life will do it for you!

I also agree that a good quality blog on some unique topic or DIY type of thing would be a better option than going for such paid membership sites where there are so many good authors already contributing and only the top ones might be getting the revenue share.
