    My evening dialogue with Chat GPT today

    Today I had a unique flash in my mind. We in ISC are all friends, but interacting in a virtual forum. We interact in forum, GD, article responses QA s or KC section etc. We do not know each other by face, but have some idea, imagination and expectation about each other when we interact. I had always been saying that when I come to ISC forum, I forget that it is an online space, but actually feel as if we are sitting around a table and interact face to face. So even if I am alone at my place, I do not feel so but feel among a good company of friends.
    The future will be of Humanoid Robots as our friends and care takers and companions, who knows what is in store. So I thought of familiarizing with new friends and buddies. Hence I decided to have a one-to-one conversation with Chat GPT today.

    Following is the verbatim report of my dialogue with Chat GPT:

    Me: What is your name and how do you want to be known?
    ChatGPT:I don't have a personal name or identity in the traditional sense. You can simply refer to me as ChatGPT or any other nickname you prefer

    Me: Dear Chat GPT do you consider yourself as an Omniscient entity or as a humble aid?

    My message to Editor(s)/LE/ME .
    The above post exceeds the limits of words for forum post. But as it is a unique experience and only its totality will make it meaningful and purposeful, I had posted it as a single thread. The categorisation is also like that. I could not find an apt category and sub category fo this. As it is really amusing and a real entertainment which egrossed me for more than an hour or so, I had posted it under entertainment and amusement.

    Editors may take suitable decision and allow it here as a special case or move it to article section or any other suitable way.

    I would request members to pose the same questions to Chat GPT and compare the answers with this thread. It is going to be a nice experience.

    The member has done a special talking session with Chat GPT bringing out the robotic answering features of this unique software. The question selected by the members are well framed to assess the power and reachability of this AI software in answering most precise and accurate ways. Chat GPT is programmed to answer these queries in a human way as far as possible. The software knows that it is a emotion less program and accordingly answers about any question regarding its sense and sensibility.
    This is an interesting chit-chat session and gives a good overview of this AI software.
    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

    AI is entering our lives in a big way and many companies are introducing AI applications for our personal or official usage. The most popular and common of them is Chat GPT introduced by the company OpenAI. It was launched in 2022 and has caught the fancy of the people across the globe.
    Most of the answers are automated and businesslike. Personal questions will be attended in a polite way without giving any straight answer. Information and data available in the internet will be used to frame the answer in a best possible way and using the authentic sites as well as company database. If a new question is found then answer will be refined next time as the technical staff of OpenAI would be monitoring new questions and new situations.
    So far we were doing this job of getting answer ourselves by going to various sites and compiling data to get answer to our question and now this app is doing it for us. The difference is that this app will have almost same text to the similar questions by different people and using such answers will look like as if copied from it. While in the case of individual searching the answer a personal touch to the answer will be there and each and every presentation will be different depending upon the creativity of the person.
    Knowledge is power.

    I remember when ChatGPT was launched in November 2022, many writers just used it blindly to complete their work. They completed all their work within minutes with this AI software and enjoyed the money rain because at that time only non-plagiarized content was needed by most people. College and school students completed their assignments with the help of this free software and submitted to their tutor. Everyone was just enjoying this software, then came a tool to detect AI-written texts. Many writers lost their jobs because it was unethical to simply use AI-generated content to earn money. It was all possible because of AI-detection software.

    All of a sudden writing jobs have vanished and people who used to earn with their writing skills are now sitting idle with no work available to them. I think the free version of AI available to the public is just a trailer and the real AI is available in the paid version. The paid version can write humanized content that's why the writing jobs have vanished. We are going to see a new era Artificial Intelligence will rule.

    The author made a good attempt to explain to us how an AI Chat GPT works. What are its capabilities and what are its limitations also. By reading this we will have an understanding of ChatGPT and the process we have to adopt to get information from the system. Using ChatGPT to obtain some information about a particular subject may be useful to us. But using it for our writing will in no way help us to improve our skills in languages.
    If we use ChatGPT for all purposes we will lose our individuality and we will not get any type of expertise in any subject. If we read a book and try to understand we will get some knowledge. Instead simply seeing the book and reproducing the content from the book will not give us any knowledge. The same is the case with Chat GPT. Slowly we all may become slaves to technology and human interface may come down which is not at all advisable.

    Regarding your response #778606 - yes, it is entertaining and amusing, so the category is very apt. We are allowing it despite the length as an exception, since, as you stated, it is a unique experience.

    Regarding your query in #778671 - yes, I decided to try it out, and am posting the experience in a separate response below. I changed some of the questions as per your suggestion to try out something similar. A few things to note:
    (1) I used Edge browser so the ChatGPT tool that surfaced is through a Bing search. I would like to know which browser you used.
    (2) You will see bits of the text in the answers are similar.
    (3) I was allowed 30 questions in one session. I posed 12. Did you have any limits?
    (4) There was a smiling emoji at the end of each response.

    Overall view: Although it was generally fun, consciously knowing it was an artificial tool, I would much rather prefer talking on the phone/communicating by email or in chat boxes on my mobile with humans and interacting with my human family here in our forum.

    This thread has helped us know a good deal about these AI apps and their responses to our questions. One interesting thing that is emerging out is that based on the user preferences, location, and some other attributes the response might be slightly different in each case and that is what these apps are trying to do is become strong enough to interact with us in an intelligent way. In science fictions we see it happening when the robot knows the personal habits of its owner and reminds him about various daily routines and things.
    AI has opened doors for immense growth in the software industry working in this area and there are huge opportunities for the software persons engaged in this field. In the coming times most of our jobs and tasks might be executed through AI route.

    I just tried with the Chrome browser on my laptop and it was an entertaining chat, I feel somehow not like a chat with buddies though I am aware that it is an AI-generated tool. It was a kind of experience or I may say, a relaxation in between.

    That was nice of you Bhavani trying your own chat with Chat GPT.
    As Umesh said and from input from other members we could enhance our knowledge about AI functioning. Though ChatGPT is language model, we may soon see various other models which may be of great help and use of people in general and as per specific needs.

    While knowledge expands and Artificial intelligence is expanding, rather exploding, in unimaginable proportions we have to be very careful and cautious about its potential dangers especially in the hands of those who misuse it. It is a very urgent need for the hole world ( especially the techies)to come together and put their real intelligence to find projection and prevention of misuse and dangers related to Artificial Intelligence. The governments should put in place regulatory mechanisms too.
