It is essential that States have an Apex body for para medical courses

We urgently need a State Apex Body for improving the standards, suggesting changes to existing syllabuses and so on, for para medical courses. There are many deemed and State Universities offering a huge variety of para medical courses in Tamil Nadu. The standards are quite good and since the massive number of private corporate hospitals in Tamil Nadu is among the highest or even possibly the highest in India, there is a massive demand for trained manpower. This manpower often goes to the Gulf countries after three years of experience, for greener pastures.

However, an apex body. consisting of the best doctors in the State, along with some experienced serving or retired IAS officers, can be formed, so that they can suggest vast changes to the teaching and training methodologies, for better results. For example, there is the world famous best Corporate Hospital group called the Apollo Group of Hospitals, headquartered in Chennai. They also have the most advanced technologies. Corporate hospitals of this kind can play a vital role in the formation of the Apex body and refining it as the years go by.

The different States of India should also have such a body for better results.

A good suggestion by the author. Presently, All India Paramedical Council incorporated under the Legislation of Government of India is there that regulates the affiliation for paramedical courses in India. Then there is
Paramedical Board of India that provides training in the field of Para Medical and Allied Medical Sciences at the basic level. They also provide vocational courses and on the job experience.
The idea of forming a state level apex body for coordination of paramedical education and training is nice and the possibility of it being done by the state medical department can also be explored. Whatever be the model it would create convenience for the students going for paramedical courses.

    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

A good suggestion from the author. It is good to have a committee to study the present system and to suggest changes in the system. There is a regulatory board in India already and it is monitoring the present system and that is known as the Para Medical Board of India. This is responsible for providing required training to the para-medical staff. But I don't whether some system is there in the organisation to review the syllabus and introduce the changes required at regular intervals. But as such presently no state-level bodies are available. There are state-level technical education boards and medical universities. This responsibility can be given to these state-level medical universities as they are in the related field and they will know the changes that are taking place in their field and accordingly, they can think of changes required in para medical subjects also.

The health services provided to a patient in the hours of distress is the essential need. Paramedical staff is engaged to relieve the patients with their skills. There is really a shortage of specialised manpower taking care of ailing patient.
To mitigate the shortage of the staff, we need to induct some qualified people in this stream such as retired government officials and other educated mass to render their service in the health sector. Such engagement of people will ease the process of treatment of the patients.
Though the paramedical board of India is functioning but we are not aware of its true role.
I think the state level technical board doing their jobs in the paramedics field will intensify their services for the welfare of the patients.
