    Do you know any good trick to track our lost mobile phone?

    Hi Friends,

    I want to get some trick to track our lost phone if gmail , facebook , location etc available on phone, the how can we track our mobile to find location. Thanks in advance for your good suggestion which can help to many people.

    I am not technically conversant with the process but I have seen some help topics in Google support site (https://support.google.com) about this issue.
    It gives some details about how to find, secure, or erase a lost Android device.
    If you can make out the process then you can use it as well as share it here for the benefit of the members.
    I went through the help topic in that site but it was quite elaborate and technical and I am not able to summarise that for the benefit of a common user.
    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

    Generally, once the phone is stolen by somebody, immediately the thief will remove the SIM Card so that no signal will be there and nobody will notice where from signals are coming from. After a few days, the phone may be sold off or a new SIM card may be placed in that phone. International Mobile Equipment Identity ( IMEI) will be there for each mobile. One should keep that number somewhere so that in case of losing the phone this number can come in handy. This number is a 15-digit unique number. One should inform the mobile carrier about the theft immediately and provide them with this IMEI number. Immediately they can block the usage of that phone I understand. Some mobile service providers can track the phone if it is still active.
    There are many other ways described on the internet but no method can give you a 100% guarantee of tracking the phone.

    Yes, IMEI number is a unique number for a mobile phone and in fact a unique number for each of the SIM slot that the phone has. It is helpful in locating a lost phone.
    Another thing is that Google also claims that if we login to our Google account and install Find My Device app and after that if we lose our phone then we can go to the site - https://android.com/find and locate the missing phone. It is mentioned that Google does it through its location service.
    The app works automatically and one can find the missing mobile particulars also on Google Play.
    The sad part of the story is that the stolen or lost phone is tempered by the people who have knowledge of these things and they also know how to disable these methods to locate a lost phone.
    I do not have any practical experience of this method but one can install the said app in the phone so that it takes care of any future eventuality.

    In the mobile phone, you may find an option in security to track your lost mobile. You can enable this option. You have to submit an alternative phone number. If your mobile phone is lost, and a person inserts a new sim into the phone, a message is delivered to the alternative phone number. Using this feature you can track your mobile phone.
    Honesty is the best policy.
