Umesh,
I do not think the search issue has to do with the amount (volume) of content in the section. From what I have been reading online, Google search will show up content which has good keywords, and good length content that is informative and keeps the reader within the page for a long time (it is called 'dwell time').
Let us take an example from the KC section. Suppose there is a Topic about the best MBA institutes for an HR specialization. If a member just gives a list of institutes, the reader will just skim through it and go away from the site. On the other hand, a response with not just a list but informative content about each institute - the HR syllabus, the fee, and, most importantly for a student, the placement possibility - will keep the reader on the page for a longer time + the keywords used with backlinks in good length text will surely catch the eye of Google's algorithm.
Then there are the Topics themselves. A Topic with keywords that have a higher search volume will get good traffic. An example is a comparison between two colleges, such as, "X vs Y - which is better for an M.Tech. in Data Science?" That, along with a response that explains why one is better than the other in terms of the quality of the curriculum, the internships, the faculty, and, again, placement, will be beneficial for ISC. 'Placement' I think is a very good keyword to use. Similarly, a topic comparing two specific career options after completing a particular course, explaining the pros and cons of each career option, may get better traffic than giving a general list of career options. Another example- A Topic on studying abroad would be good if specifics are given about what exactly is taught, and, more importantly, work options in that country after completing the particular course as that is what students really want to know and not just information about the university and course. Even a Topic on admissions can get better traffic if a few keywords are used, like "XYZ University ABC Course – Eligibility, Fees, Placement".
Hence we need to make an effort to improve on content. Put in good-length content that is very informative and comes across as done analytically after a good research on the topic. The reader will then be impressed and is likely to return frequently to seek information on other topics.
I am not an expert on such matters and don't understand the stuff about algorithms, but this is my perspective after having learned through ISC a little about SEO.
