Sugar, sugar everywhere, where I should go?

Nowadays people are very health concious. They view many health related videos in the internet and get inspired by them to quite a good degree. Some people are encouraged to undertake exercises while others cut off on food intake. Everyone tries to do some action in this regard supposed to be beneficial for the health and it is definitely a good thing and a way to see towards positive side of life.
Internet is full of so much information and wherever we go we find one thing that everyone is advising us to cut down the sugar intake. It is said that it is one of the most harmful item. But sugar is everywhere. Not only in our routine foods, drinks, and other goodies but it is there in good quantity whenever we have festivals and we get a good amount of sweets from outside or even prepare it in our houses. How can we stop taking sugar? Is there a limit to what amount of sugar we should take daily and not cross that limit? What are your views on this?

Indeed, sugar-containing food is always craving since one cannot live without taking it in one form or the other. Health consciousness is much needed at this point of changing lifestyle.

In my opinion, we cannot completely avoid sugar since we need energy to perform our daily routine, and calories to burn through carbohydrates like sugar. Then how much it is required is a million dollar question. It depends on one's metabolism, age, lifestyle, genetics, etc. First, you try to learn about your physical condition (nature of body) and live accordingly. I have seen many people who eat lots of sweets, but their sugar levels remain intact due to their metabolic activities. However, if you would like to be healthy conscious, don't want to take much sweets, but you have craving for, you can eat sugar contained food once a while but you must need to burn the calories in the form of sugar by walking, cycling, swimming, jogging, any kind of sports activities, such as badminton, basketball, football, etc.

I feel controlling sweet cravings would be a challenge for those who would like to indulge, but they can control through some strategies, which may help. Taking regular balanced meals containing protein, good fat, fiber, enough carbs, and so on. Including more vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, dry fruits, etc., would satisfy your sweet tooth to lead healthy life to some extent at the same time. Avoiding processed food or snacks might help too. The most important would be, not to follow any social media (YouTube or WhatsApp) for health-related issues. Consulting your family physician would be appropriate.

We cannot avoid sugar completely but there are ways to contain sugary items. What is needed is to develop our willpower to the level that we would dislike such items prepared from sweets. May be initial phase might be a little bit difficult when we cannot resist our temptation. Such an attitude will slowly die down and we will have a different metabolism.
A determined approach is the only solution. Even if we leave the sweet dishes, we do have different plates containg sugar such as rice, wheat, potatoes and a lot of fruits containg sugar.
Hence it is essential that such foods containing lot of carbohydrates are to be avoided or at least such items are to be consumed moderately to reap the health benefits restraining excess carbohydrates.

Stopping eating sugar is one way and the other way is to eat sugar and burn all the calories you accumulate by eating. We require some sugar to manage our work and the requirement depends on the work we do.
Carbohydrates get digested very fast and we feel hungry and we consume more and more. Instead, if we take a combination of proteins and carbohydrates we will not feel hungry quickly and we will have sufficient energy. One need not completely avoid sugar. But taking too much sugar is not desirable. I have seen people consuming tea with a lot of sugar and they consume 3 or 4 times tea in a day. That is not a good practice.
Once in a while consuming one sweet is not that dangerous. But eating too much rice or wheat is not good. One should take more vegetables, deals etc and eating less rice or wheat will be a good practice. One should not eat when he is not feeling hungry.

Let me add that in many medical related information I found that sugar is the main culprit for bringing in various ailments in our bodies. Sugar is the main content in various sweets, snacks, and foods which we often consume.
Now, the interesting thing in this matter is that sugar will not harm everyone in the same way. Every person has got a different body with different metabolism. So, it will harm some of them in which sugar is not metabolised properly. Those who are able to burn up all the sugar taken will not have any problem.
A normal person requires some amount of sugar and taking sugar in moderation will not create any problem.

    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

It is very clear that taking more sugar is not good for our health. Many people today are cutting down drastically on their sugar intake. Taste of sugar is addictive. If we eat sweets we yearn for more. In our society every next day some festival would be there. People observe fast but take sugar frequently. Many of us have sweet tooth. We cannot avoid sweets.
My grandmother used to take a lot of sweets in various forms and never complained of any problem. It means she was able to burn that as she did all the household works herself even at an advanced age of about 80.
Anyway, people having any diabetic problem should be careful not to consume sugar as it would elevate it in their blood and create big problem.

    Knowledge is power.
