All employees will have some job profiles and they should fulfill their duties in such a way that the given responsibilities are completed. Generally, in all organisations, there will be a target date for completing a particular work and persons may have to work in such a way that all the projects on hand will progress simultaneously and as per the targets. As you become senior your responsibilities will increase and you have to monitor many projects at a time. This will create stress and peace of mind may not be there.
The best thing to avoid this stress is to think about one project at a time. While thinking about a project don't think about other projects. When we fix up the target dates we should keep all projects in mind and fix up the dates. Once the dates are fixed go as per that and don't delay one project for the sake of another project. Break bigger targets into smaller targets and complete these targets. When you go home don't carry all the work problems to your house. Enjoy the time with your family. That will make you relax so that when you are working you can completely concentrate on the work at hand.

Excess thinking on a particular assignment will aggravate stress and the same thing applies to workplace stress. While working as an executive in a steel plant, I ultimately realised that the achievement of the target decided by management is not altogether impossible if every worker finishes his job as instructed by his shit - manager.
Despite the instruction of his boss, he might lack a positive spirit to carry forward his job as per the instruction of his shift in charge. Though such employees are rare still there is a possibility of reporting of such employees in each shift. At the end of the shift, a report of the job - fulfilment is reported to higher - up. The boss might get angry for the poor performance of the shift and may fire the shift - in - charge for such a lapse.
Such stress might affect the health of the shift officer. This can be best managed by motivating and trusting their employees. This will lift the confidence and trust of the employees and the results will be encouraging ultimately.

Work place stress is a common thing and can happen with anyone whether he is boss or subordinate or middle level executive.
There are various reasons for workplace stress. Some of the prominent ones are - higher work load, odd hours of working, bad behaviour of colleagues, humiliation in the hands of boss, dissatisfaction with type of job, unable to perform, peer pressure, and many more like that.
Now stress is something that ruins our lives. Once it is there it will remain for some time and affect our physical as well as mental condition. The best way to fight stress is search for the root cause and try to manage it. Many things can be resolved by adhering to better life style and undertaking Yoga and meditation. Sometimes changing the job and switching to a lighter employment also helps.
One should remember that there is no escape from working in any job. We must understand that no organisation would be ready to pay remuneration to non performers. Competition is there and competition related stress cannot be avoided.
So it is better to work than to worry for so many things happening around. This world is a cruel place. No one is going to give sympathy to a stressed person. We have to manage it ourselves.

    Knowledge is power.

One important point is not to bring your office stress to your house. This will make you further stressed. Forget the problems of office once you are in the house and enjoy your time with your family. It will make you fresh and you can think better about the work the next day when you are on the job.

My view in this matter is that generally the poor performers or lazy employees would have more stress as they will always be worried about getting banging from the boss or other problems faced by such people. To face that they will make a lot of excuses also and tell a chain of lies. It is obvious that the boss has to take a note of such people and either shift them to a different type of lighter job or remove them from key points to avoid any disastrous result.
On the other hand the top performers and active employees will be busy in giving good output but due to overload of work they might be getting stress from time to time but I would say that it is a positive stress because they know that they will be growing in their career only through that route. It is also a fact that given the opportunities such people rise much in their careers.
So, everyone will have more and less stress but in some cases it is harmful for the individual while in other cases it might be helping in ones progress and growth in the career.

    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.
