    Happy to see increased forum activity - a member's viewpoint

    The forum activity in ISC is increasing though number of active members is still not like the old times. However some members are busy in Knowledge Centre, Article Section, and Information Update and it is obvious that they would not be able to spare much time for forum section. Anyway, I hope that more members would start contributing in forum section which is said to be the gateway to ISC portal.

    One trend that I observed in forum section recently is that in some threads a good discussion almost on the lines of active GD is happening and it is a good sign because more the discussion more the points and information emerge out of that. All the members and editors who are extending the discussions and patiently taking part in such extended discussions are really doing a commendable job and I hope and wish that it would help ISC to regain its earlier position in the huge webspace. Keep contributing and all the best.

    Activity level in forum section is improving and it would increase further if a few members also come to contribute and join the wagon.
    I am also contributing here and recently have observed that some members (especially Venkiteswaran) and some editors (especially Saji Ganesh) are time to time strengthening and aligning the threads in the more creative paths resulting in quality contributions by other contributors. As a member of this learning fraternity I would wish and hope that more members will follow the suit for progress and popularity of the forum section.
    I fully agree that with combined efforts we can achieve the desired results.
    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

    Yes. The activity is now better. It has to be further improved and more members should log in and contribute. Let us try our best to see that all the members will come forward and spend some time here so that the activity further improves.
    Earlier I thought that I was the only member having plenty of time to spend on this site. But now I am seeing another 2 or 3 members spending good time and some of the Editors also sparing some time. That is a good sign. I observed that activity in the Knowledge Centre section has come down and not seeing much activity there. I don't understand the reasons for this.
    I also agree with Umesh that more discussion, that too a healthy discussion is happening for some threads which is a welcome feature. Let all the members start contributing to this section and see that we will see the old forum section again here.

    Dr Rao, the main reason for low activity in Knowledge Centre is the requirement of high quality data and information. As we all remember, that section was meant for educational data and is still dedicated to educational niche and the idea was to attract more traffic to ISC through that. I am sure it must have been partly or fully successful in that endeavour.
    Now as it takes time to prepare answers to Knowledge Centre topics, it is possible that we may not be able to contribute more number of contributions there but whatever we want to make, that we have to thoroughly check and scrutinize at our end before giving it to editors for final approval. This process would take time and the effect is that we see the apparent activity as low in that section.
    Anyway let us try our best and find out some quality time for the answers to Knowledge Centre topics. All the best.

    Umesh, what you mentioned may be one of the reasons but not the only reason for low activity. The lack of time may be another reason. We require more time to answer an item, in this section. We have to search for related information from reliable resources and we have to consolidate the whole information and should make the answer so that the member who posted will get the required answer.

    Contests in ISC were always a great attraction for the members irrespective of the award amounts. The present contest - ' If summer had flavour ...' is also attracting good responses and that is really a matter of happiness for all of us.
    Hope we will have more such contests in times to come.
