How to provide employment and engage the large poor population of our country?

India is a developing economy and as per the progress made in the last decade we are going ahead magnificently. News channels, social media, and foreign press, all are indicating about this phenomenal progress made by us in various areas.
Let us now go in the shadow of this growth. We still have a large number of people below the poverty level and we do not have a regular or sustained job opportunity for them though some of them get some seasonal jobs fetching them some small money. Mostly they are surviving on the free ration and other such help from the Govt or NGO agencies.
It is estimated that there are at least 10 to 12 crore such poor people in our country. What can be done to engage them and provide a regular earning and get detached from Govt or other free help? I request members to give ideas for their employment may be in small jobs but making them feel satisfaction of working and having self pride about it.

When you are go through the vernacular newspapers, you can see many advertisements (of course including bogus also) seeking persons for employment. This seems that there are vacancies and persons are to employ hands.

The main reason for increased unemployment is the aspirants are filtering the jobs, seeing dignity, waiting for a big company offer, highest salary, seeking job in the same field they have studied etc.,

Expectation of a big company with highest salary is good but to what extent they are sitting idle. What rescue they are going to give to their parents?

It is very rare to get a job on a persons own field in which he/she studied. In those days there was an image of Bank employment for the commerce graduates. But many commerce graduates are employed in other locations other than banks.

It is an alarming area where the authorities in power have to think properly to provide. job - seekers with opportunities. However, we can conclude that there is enough job - -creation appearing in leading papers. This assumption does not hold good since it reflects the number of vacancies and to what extent the job-seekers benefit is not known to us at a glance. Sometimes the vacancies are displayed in the papers but such posts are not filled up to the desired level. The advertisements displayed by the employers are sometimes revised to a lesser number. We cannot estimate the real numbers having been employed in such companies.
Moreover, the strength of the unemployed candidates swells month after month indicating a higher number of people awaiting jobs. It needs to be taken care of otherwise frustration is sure to develop among the unemployed youths.

The trend today is that jobs are not increasing in the Govt sector because Govt wants to consolidate its activities in some core sectors rather than everywhere. But Govt is creating a conducive environment for survival of private businesses and it is this segment where more jobs can be created. So our only hope is now the private sector working in various areas and creating a large number of small jobs.
Govt is also outsourcing its activities to private companies and that would further help the private operators to create more jobs.

I can give one suggestion that there is scope of self employment in our country but the problem is place to conduct it. If the local bodies like municipalities allow the large number of hawkers a small place along the footpaths in main markets in every city and town then a large number of people can be accommodated in this creating a full time job fetching money through sales of a variety of goodies.
It would of course congest the already crowded markets but can be thought as a viable option.

    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

There is a significant change in the lives of the people and all are trying to do their best and earn the maximum possible. Two days back I was in Nagpur. I was going to the hotel from the airport in a vehicle sent by the company to pick me up. I talked to the driver. He was young and looking confident. He told me that he completed his graduation and studying for an MBA in a reputed college. But on weekends and holidays, he runs a cab to earn his pocket for that week.
We are not able to get people to do small household jobs like electrical repairs, plumbing jobs etc. Many of such people who were attending these jobs started taking up contracts in apartments etc and they are employing three to four assistants and paying them good amounts. That way there is a reduction in unemployment. There are no government jobs but there are jobs in the private sector. People should be ready to accept those jobs.

    always confident
