Extra ordinary high intelligence or conciousness level in humans as compared to animals

As per the Darwin's theory of evolution many species were evolved from the primitive life forms and a large number of animals came into existence on this planet Earth. The evolution was not a one day affair as it took millions of years in evolution of the species and that geological time scale is mind boggling and is beyond the comprehension of a normal person.
Most of the scientists believe in Darwin's theory though there are some who have different opinions but there are facts and figures that make Darwin's theory the most acceptable one in this knowledge area.
During the long period of evolution there were climate changes on Earth cycling between high temperatures and ice ages laced with sea level changes. But all that happened very slowly and still happening but we humans cannot take cognizance of that as our observation period is very small limited to a window of say 100 years on the long time line of about approximately 3.7 billion years since basic life form is said to be evolved on Earth.
Humans as evolved from apes are said to come in existence about roughly 2 million years back and they can be termed as primitive humans while beginning of modern humans is being deduced somewhere around only the 200000 years back.
Understanding of these figures on the geological time scale helps in understanding the evolutionary processes for all the animals especially in respect of the humans who have surprisingly a highly developed conciousness level as compared to all other animals evolved or present today.
What could be the reason of this extra ordinarily high intelligence or conciousness level in humans? Any ideas?

We human beings and other many animals are living on the same planet Mother Earth and have the same environment to live in. But why animals are not progressing or developing as we human beings develop by using our intelligence and common sense? A very pertinent doubt. This development and progress in humanbeings is due to the intelligence of human beings.
Animals, machines and human beings all have intelligence. But the intelligence of human beings is higher than the other two. Of course, animals are created by God whereas Machines are man-made. I think animals follow their instincts and will not think differently. Machines work as per the program fed into it. But man will think and try to improve upon it always. This is mainly due to the big brain that is in the body of human beings. The size of a human being is bigger than the size of a brain that an animal has, I understand. This will allow him more space to store his experiences and knowledge. I heard that there are some animals which are intelligent like human beings and the chimpanzee is an example of this.

A nice information about evolution. It is a very interesting subject and biology students might be aware with these theories and research work.
It is understood that evolution took a long time and still happening. Many species are extinct and new species might be under development.
From a primitive life form, many different life forms evolved. Some evolved in water some underneath the soil. Not only human form but all results are surprising. Some of them crawl on ground while some fly in the sky.
Anyway, why only humans have got such a developed brain is a question that is still a topic of research though some expert might give some answer to that.
In my view as humans evolved from apes and apes have a much developed conciousness than other animals and they look more and less like the humans, it is logical to assume that humans further evolved in the most surprising manner.

I was reading some related material to evolution of life on Earth and found some interesting observations. It is argued that Earth being a very massive body and having varying geography and climate across it there is a possibility of varying evolution in different places. Some places are even not connected to others and so some species could remain only there. For example Australia being an isolated continent it had its own flora and fauna. An example of Kangaroo is given to make the point more clear, which is native to Australia and not found elsewhere unless it is brought from Australia for a zoo.

Another interesting observation is about the dinosaurs which were the giants roaming on the Earth in those prehistoric times. They were there for a long time but perished because of some catastrophe or were not able to cope up with changing climate. Still the amazing thing about them is they were there for a very long period about 165 million years. They became extinct about 65 million years back. The geological time line is very long and until we understand that hugeness we cannot digest the evolutionary porocesses which are the most slowest processes in nature. The example of dinosaurs is given to understand the vastness of the evolutionary time scale.

Out of millions of species of animals, many became extinct and many survived. The major factors which could not be tolerated by many species are said to be melting of glaciers, sea level changes, volcanic and mega tectonic activities, meteoritic catastrophe, seismic upheavals, etc.

Experts tell us that it is possible that on the Earth itself on different place different types of evolution could take place resulting in unique fauna and flora characterising that place. The geography that is desert or sea or hills or plateaus or jungles or marshes all contributed to varying forms of evolution and one of the most amazing one was the evolution of intelligent humans from their ancestor apes.

So variation in evolution is accepted as a fact and more as a scientific fact and in light of that it is possible that a particular species get more amount of intelligence than other.

The above discussion is creating a query in my mind. We say that significant climate changes happened in the past. So, how the present climate change is different from that. Scientists attribute the present change to nan made carbon emission. But in past also such emissions must had been there from natural burning of jungles and may be from volcanic emmisions.
Members having knowledge in that field may like to give their views.

I am waiting for my query to get resolved. Any help?

I am trying to resolve the query as above made by Neeru Bhatt.
In past also there were climate changes mainly due to natural causes like large scale volcanic emissions, sea level changes, melting of glaciers, cyclic ice ages, meteorite impacts etc. But all those changes were reversible albeit on a long time scale. Many species perished during those periods of upheaval but many survived especially which could adopt themselves with the changes.
For example we know about migratory birds which fly a long distance in the winter from the Northern hemisphere of Earth to the Southern or equatorial regions and then return back home once the winter ends. That is a survival mechanism.
So the point is that natural processes were there but miraculously and fortunately Earth always came back to a conducive form for living beings.
Coming to the present global warming issue - unfortunately it is man made and is quickly developing and threatening the entire human population on Earth. The big question is whether this would reverse? Even if it reverses but takes a very long time then what is the use? By that time many species including humans would perish.

    Knowledge is power.
