Given a choice to travel back in time which part of your life would you like to visit?

Time travel is one of the most common themes in science fiction and fantasy movies. These movies are generally very interesting and evoke the imagination of people in respect of time travel and related happenings.
We all know that time is an entity which flows in a forward direction and the interesting thing is that it never stops and never goes back. So the concept of time travel is a phantasy thing of sort mainly used in science fiction stories and films.
Though it is a hypothetical thing but if you are given a machine to travel back in time then which time of your life you will like to go? Let us share our views on this.

I have seen some movies with theme of time travel. It is a strange proposition but very entertaining as there are myriads of storylines possible in such a hypothetical concept.
How science and technology is going to make a machine that can take us to different time zones is not understandable but as a phantasy concept there is nothing wrong in that proposition.
Coming to the proposed time travel in this thread, if given such an opportunity then I would like to go back to my school days when I was in my class V in a small primary school in my native town. I want to meet my classmates and relive that childhood time again. The very thought of that is much exciting.

    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

I have seen some movies in which some scientists make time machines and take people into past years. These movies are exciting to watch and make us laugh loudly. But in reality, it is impossible to go back a half minute. That is why people say we will not get back missed bus or train again in our lifetime. Of course, we may reach the destination early by getting on a flight after missing a train or bus. This is a time gain for us.
Childhood is the sweetest part of our life. No responsibilities, and no duties and we have no comparisons with others. We play, enjoy cry and laugh as we like. We have no fear and even we don't what is fear. As we grow big our responsibilities increase and we start worrying for many reasons and we will lose peace in our lives. So if there is a chance given to me to go back to the past I prefer to go back to my childhood. Again I can play with my sisters and brothers and I can equally enjoy my time with the children in the neighbouring houses. I can go and demand whatever I want from my mother.

Let me also share my ideas in this regard. Time travel is a matter of phantasy and there are certain things that can be assumed about it. For example if a person goes back to a time point of his past life then he would not remember anything after that and start afresh from that point. This is necessary assumption to avoid any confusion or clash of memories in the minds. So, the result of that would be that he would simply go ahead and depending upon the situation study and make a career and in all probability it would be entirely a different path than that of his earlier life. In time travel we assume that from each point many random possibilities are ahead and no one knows which path a particular person would go ahead.
Anyway, not going deep into those assumptions, I would seek to go back to my class XI and study and make a career which right now I cannot mention as I would be doing it afresh from that juncture without any knowledge of my this life.

I remember seeing a Tamil Drama " Mahabhaarathathil Mangaatha" by S V Sekhar during the eighties in Madurai. It was a comedy with the subject of Time Capsule enabled travel back to the Epic times.

So even if hypothetical, if I got a chance of travelling back in my life , I would prefer to go back to my college days. I had mentioned the same i some earlier context also.

Though schooldays and childhood were golden hassle free days, it was the five years of my college days that expanded my horizons in all around directions. That was the period when I could develop a lot of fresh ideas and thoughts. That was a time of learning a lot of new lessons and getting a lot of knowledge inputs. It was a time when I felt like a free bird, but fully aware of my responsibilities, duties and priorities. That was the time when I got a lot of achievements in different fields and understood about my various abilities and talents as well as my limitations or deficiencies. That was the time when I could clearly fix my realistic goals and targets without destroying my dreams.
Those 5 years in college and the immediately following five years (the early years of my job) are what I consider the best in my life as that was when I discovered the real me and had all the freedom to mold myself without going stray from my priorities and responsibilities. I could do a lot of reading, interactions with various type of people, many of them successful and iconic personalities, get a lot of academic and extra curricular field achievements. That was a time when the vast world was opened to me. It was a time of real and sincere cameraderie.

The natural choice or the preferred one will be childhood but given a choice, I would prefer to get back to that moment when I had taken a wrong decision that changed the course of my life. Most of us would have come across such or a few such moments which we crossed and later realized that it would have been better if we had taken a different decision or had acted differently. Of all such moments, we may have to choose one particular moment that made a difference in our lives. If we are given a chance to go back in time, I would like to get back at that point and start all over again by taking a different path.

Saji, you made a point. Yes, given a choice we all will like to go back to that moment of wrong decision that we are still repenting.

My choice would be the three years of my Graduation and two years of my University life. They were pure and perfect mixed with all elements of life. The competitive spirit to excel in career, the boy-girl friendship, the regular visits to Library, the indoor and out-door games and the political and film critic discussions with friends during evening walk and dinner time discussions. The holiday break with family members and TV serial discussions/ imitation of the News readers and Anchors with brother and sisters - of course, that time won't come again!

It is rather a fantastic post that compels us to think about the most exciting phase of our earlier lives. Even at this ripe old age, I would like to have the company of my old friends from my school with whom I frequently fought and later shared with Tiffin. We often missed our classes due to our escape from classes just to visit the nearby places for thrilling occasions. Sometimes we were caught up by the teachers for our thrilling adventures.
Despite the regular cajoling of our teachers, my handwriting never improved to the level which would look decent. Sharing such sweet memories of my school days with my old friends is quite refreshing still at this old age.
