What is the maximum distance you ever walked at a stretch?

Walking is a good exercise. Many people walk regularly. That is a routine for them.
There are some situations when we have to walk not for morning walk but due to the necessity created by that situation. During rainy season or landslides in hilly regions or during roadblocks or strikes by transport providers or any other similar situation can arise forcing people to walk.
Have you ever trapped in such a situation or had walked a long distance for trekking or likewise activities? How much maximum had you walked? What type of fatigue or exertion you experienced? Please share your experiences.

During my childhood I was living in a hilly place. Our school was about 1.5 km from my house and daily we were going there on foot as scooters were not common in those days and because of hilly terrain it was not possible to use a bicycle for that purpose. So, we were habitual of walking 3-4 km per day easily and that was the part of our lives.
During the school holidays we used to organise picnics and a group of students used to visit far away temples in the hills where spring water was available and was considered an ideal place for that outing activity.
Once we organised a picnic to go to a temple which was about 6 km on foot from the town. The narrow path leading to that popular temple crossed through 2-3 adjacent villages and people could take a break in the village tea shop in case that was required.
We started early in the morning and there were some clouds floating in the sky and wind was blowing pleasantly. It took about 2 hours to reach there. We all were tired and took some rest and then arranged our things outside the temple and made a wooden stove using the used stones lying here and there. First we made tea and then started playing the games that we planned earlier. Later we made some food from the items that we brought from the house and by 3 PM we were ready to pack and go back. While returning our pace was slow and we took more time.
That was the longest walk of 6 km at a stretch and 12 km in a day that I remember done by us.

    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

Normally I used to walk in many places as I feel interest in walking. First week of last May I went to Madurai and casually gone to many places by walk with some work . Later I noticed from my mobile app I walked nearly 7 kilometers on that day at a stretch.

My aunt ( My mother's sister ) was staying in East Godavari Dt of Andhra Pradesh. My Uncle ( Her husband) was a schoolteacher in a very remote village near Annavaram. There were no transport facilities in that village during those days. After getting down from the bus one must walk 5 km to reach that village. Only one bus was going to that village in the morning. Some people used to go by mopeds and cycles. Many people used to walk.
I was doing an M.Sc in Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. I used to travel by bus from Visakhapatnam to my native place. I used to get down and walk 5 km to go to my aunt's place while going to my native place or coming back. Sometimes I was lucky somebody would give me a lift. One night I got down from the bus and started walking to that village. After walking for 2 km rain started. There was no chance to take shelter anywhere on the road. So I continued my walking. By the time I reached their house, I was completely drenched in water. I was happy I reached the distance safe.

Very interesting experiences are pouring in. Let me add my experience also.
I was doing my PG in a hilly town in Uttarakhand and we had some holidays. Some students made a program of trekking to the nearest town where there was a lake and other beautiful sights nearby.
The weather was very pleasant and we started early with a backpack with some essentials and water bottle.
We started our journey on foot along the road but soon took the short cuts in between and again were coming back to the main road from time to time. After one and half hour we took a break at a place where a few houses and tea shop were there. We took tea and a few biscuits and resumed our journey.
Another two hours passed and we reached a place from where the town was in sight and we all felt happy on that beautiful landscape surrounding the town.
We were feeling tired and decided to break for 15 minutes to regain our stamina to walk further ahead.
We resumed our journey and in another one hour we were in the town. We all took seats in a small restaurant and ordered some snacks and tea.
After a gap of one hour we went out for a tour of the place but could not walk much as we were already much tired by the long walk done in the morning. We selected a place for taking lunch and by that time it was past 2 PM and we then went to the bus stand to catch a bus for returning to our town.
It was at least a walk of 14-15 km and that is the maximum that I had ever walked.

    Knowledge is power.

It was 10–12 km when I was a child. One of my neighborhood friends decided to accompany him to his newly constructed home. We didn't get the bus, so we decided to go on foot. That was the time of extreme heat, and it became too difficult for me to reach there. I was sweating a lot, and both guys, being older than me, didn't experience fatigue. Somehow we managed to reach their home, and my friend's mother scolded us for it. From that day on, I never tried such a long walking stretch in my life. Yes, we have done trekking, but only for fun, as there is nothing to be done on the mountains, and normally treks are not more than 5–6 km on the mountains, so I never felt exhausted there. I like trekking, and every time we travel in the mountains, we do trekking. We are planning to go to Gaumukhi in the next few years.

I like walking a lot especially during winters because it keeps the body warm. In summers I don't like walking because after walking a few kilometres body becomes tired a lot due to sweating. I remember walking about 8 kms without any problem during winters, but when I tried to walk 5 kms during Summers I was drained like hell. I have a sensor app in my smartphone counting each step I walk that tells me how much kilometres I had walked.
    Thanks and regards.

Now with ageing I have started walking for say some eight years in the evening. Interesting part is if we have com any of two to three of same wavelength of mindset we may goes on walking with talking. One such occasion came while sridevi passing away. And more interestingly the walking are of different language and hence we shared her contribution in Tamil, Telugu Hindi and it goes for a week to share.

Also when IG, San jay Gandhi, MGR passed away I have walked almost 25 to 30 kms on my return from, school, college.

With the experience of above, I was representative of class during my final year of UG, I walked with assistant representative for the organization of farewell party outside the campus those days it was first in that college and so money is also criteria so we walked almost daily 5 to 10 kns for a week.
