It's true that the rise of electronic gadgets like tablets and styluses has transformed the way we take notes and educate children. These devices offer convenience and advanced features like text conversion, making them appealing for both students and teachers. However, I believe there is value in traditional pen and paper methods. Writing by hand can enhance memory retention and creativity. While technology offers many benefits, it's important to strike a balance. Encouraging a mix of traditional and digital methods could help students develop a more rounded skill set.

Technology is such a thing that it attracts people to use it because of convenience and ease. Children are attracted to it more because of curiosity.
Laptop, tablets, and mobile phones are becoming very common in the households and children get easy access to them and use them as per their wish.
Some people are speaking in the microphone and the device is converting it in writing. The user is not bothered for the spelling or other things which control the quality of that write up.
I also feel that in primary classes the students should be exposed thoroughly to traditional ways of writing with a pen or pencil so that they are not deprived of that fundamental learning during their student lives. Later they can use the computer gadgets for various purposes.
Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

That is very true. Technological improvements and electronic gadgets are making our lives easy. Recently we have found tools that will hear our voice and write down what we speak. So we need not even write on a computer also. Just talking is enough. Writing and strong will be carried out by the computer. Many more gadgets may come which will eliminate the use of traditional tools we very using. We were using slates and slate pencils. But today no child may be using a slate and a slate pencil. Our mobile phone is doing almost all the work which we have to carry out.
As mentioned by the author tablets, etc are more handy than pen and paper these days. But we should not allow children to completely stop writing on a book or a slate. We should not allow them to use computers etc at least till they complete their upper primary level. Depending on electronic gadgets for small issues also is not a good feature. One should learn first to read, and write and then should learn modern techniques like using a computer etc.

'No' is my answer. Pen/ pencil and paper will always be there. Technology will keep on advancing but the importance of scribbling down something which you feel is important will always be there in our mind. We have heard of instances where whole lot of records stored in computers were lost. Though experts say that they can be retrieved, the possibility of such records getting lost forever cannot be ruled out. So, I feel that we should make it a point to store everything important in black and white for posterity.

Definitely. The chances are high.
Television reduces the crowd in cinema halls.
Now that the mobile phone replaces watches, radios and in some places televisions.
During 1976, my paternal uncle joined me in Typewriting class and to motivate me he himself (he is a doctorate degree holder and professor of a college) joined in the typewriting classes with me. On asking my grand father about my joining in the typewriting classes, he replied that because of my handwriting was poor.
In many offices, signing with pen also getting reduced as computer generated bills/papers need no signature.
Already Ink (fountain) pens are replaced almost in all places with ball point pens.
So the chances of vanishing pen/pencils is expected.

We have seen how the old ways of writing in a copy with a pencil or pencil is slowly disappearing with the modern gadgets. In our olden days, our teachers always insisted on writing in a copy marked three linings to write our texts carefully so that the ultimate writing does not loose its uniformity and texture. Regular writing improves the handwriting of a student. Once handwriting is perfected with regular practice, we can attract the readers with our impressive writing and no modern gadget can be helpful to improve our handwriting despite its multiple advantages in terms of quick writing and representation.
Yes, the disadvantage of writing on a tablet or any modern tool is an addiction and it cannot be given up so easily.

Computers offer numerous advantages: they provide easy access to a vast amount of information, enable quick edits and revisions, and allow storage and organization of documents. Few apps offers features like cloud storage, and multiple other works that pen and paper cannot match.
However, pen and paper still hold significant value. Writing by hand has been shown to enhance memory. The experience of writing on paper can be more satisfying as compared to typing on a screen. Additionally, for brainstorming and creative work, many people find the freedom of pen and paper more than computer typing.
In recent years, a hybrid approach has emerged, combining the best of both worlds. Devices like tablets with stylus allowing users to write by hand and then store their notes.
While computers have made significant revolution, where pen and paper are unlikely to be completely replaced in the near future. Each medium has its own strengths, and the choice often depends on personal preference.

Many people are today computer savvy. They do not carry any pen or pencil with them. But in emergency they politely ask other persons to give it to them for a few minutes. We cannot ignore the importance of pen or pencil in our lives. It would be there in future also though we would be using them occasionally.
Nowadays whenever I go out I invariably keep my mobile phone with me but I also keep a small blank notebook and pen which is rarely used but in emergency that is a great companion in my bag.
Some people are so much obsessed with the technology that they do everything with their mobile. But if it goes bad or is hanged they become helpless and do not know what to do.
When I go to market for shopping I keep a handwritten list of items in my purse or pocket and refer it from time to time. Some people make that list in their mobile phones. I feel more convenient in that paper slip in my pocket.
Knowledge is power.

These days we do not use pens normally. We try to note down the things as a note on our mobile. But we ask students to write in notebooks only. That means they should learn to write on a slate and a book also. Whether they use them at a later stage or not is a different issue, I feel. Even in the coming days also we will not stop teaching boys and girls how to write, how to read etc. In these activities, we will be using pencils, pens and slate pencils. We don't know how the future will be but we should encourage our kids to read mathematical tables, write in notebooks and also on slates.
