Issuing a certificate is only goal of modern education

No doubt modern education is full of technical advancement where every kind of work like teaching and educational research are being done tecnically. In today's education world modern educational tools such as computers, the internet, and interactive learning software are high on demand so that students can access to a wealth of information and resources that were not available in the past. I want to say that just knowledge is not sufficient for life. But I observed that discipline and value education is also necessary part of life. Today, most of the school are not caring regarding this. But one most important thing is, modern education are not providing value education. New generation people are being emotionless and not paying respect towards elders. Whereas, Traditional education often emphasizes the knowledge and skills, discipline, respect for authority, and a focus on core subjects such as reading, writing, and mathematics. Ultimately, the goal of education should be to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and values they need to succeed in an ever-changing world. Kindly share your view.

These days getting a higher percentage and as many marks as possible in the examination is the only goal. How much they learned and how many skills they acquired are not important for obtaining the degree. However such people may not get a placement easily. A holistic approach is required for the benefit of the student. Otherwise, these qualifications are only for decorating them after our name only.
A student studying in high school should be taught some important aspects other than core subjects. They should be taught morals, ethics, discipline and related issues so that students will become more mature and know how to lead their lives. These students should also be taught all these issues by their parents. That way the role of parents is also very important. I believe that even technically also the students are not getting enough knowledge. That is making them incompetent for many jobs.

Students these days are blessed with highspeed internet which was absent during our days. If they are good enough they can learn anything without even going to any school or college. There are many examples in today's era where people have learnt skills through internet without paying anything and cracked interviews at top IT companies. Certificates are nothing if they don't provide you the skills because in the end they will pay you for your skills not your certificate.
    Thanks and regards.

The Job market has been tough currently and to succeed in the cat race, the aspirants need to secure almost a hundred per cent in their final examination. In many instances passing from CBSE Board or other equivalent Board can be denied their admission for an undergraduate course if the aspirants have secured a little lower than a hundred per cent. That is the reason why it is difficult to get a seat in the topmost colleges in Delhi for the honours degree in some major subjects.
Despite securing such a respectable mark, their knowledge seems to be limited in other areas. The aspirants have made many more records in terms of percentage but the employers of the different organisations find them not suitable for absorption in their companies due to lack of their performance in the final interviews.

I agree that purpose of education is to inculcate knowledge, skills, and values in the students. Nowadays many institutions are changing their patterns of educating the students and are bringing in the elements of skill learning in it. Technical courses have been revamped to a good degree and I hope that more improvements are on the anvil in that regard.
A number of new courses are designed for the students to learn a skill in short term and these are mainly available in the private institutions or some reputed online agencies.
Coming to the issue of values, for this we cannot rest the entire responsibilty on the educational institutions. For inculcating good values, society and family have to do a lot of efforts and guide the children in correct path. Inculcating good values requires that the whole system should be conducive for that. Today modernisation and associated liberty is bringing many downsides to the thinking of the new generation and in such a situation keeping the values intact is a big challenge.

    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

A certificate is a documentary evidence of completion of an academic or technical education. How much the student has learned in terms of knowledge and skills is a matter which can only be ascertained after seeing his or her performance in the work.
To make a bridge between the theoretical knowledge and working, nowadays many institutions are giving emphasis for an internship or on the job training.
Moreover we are going through a big change as New Education Policy is also under implementation. Many course syllabus are being restructured by the educational institutions in line with the industry trends. In coming times we will be seeing a person having an academic qualification to be able to take up the work n the industry more proficiently.

    Knowledge is power.
