On just concluded GD
The recently closed GD thread was initiated on 04 Jun 2024 at 19:18 hrs. and closed after the last response post of 11 Jun 2024 posted at 08:20 hrs. There was no mention of last date or closing date in the GD announcement thread. (Or did it escape my notice?)
The discussion had relevance only up to the formation of new government and the oath taking function thereof.- i.e. maximum up to 9th June 2024.
I am not able to understand on what logic and basis the GD was allowed to continue even when it was almost clear that not much relevant responses are coming. After 08 Jun 2024 21:20 hrs. there were just three response posts -one each a day on 9th,10th and 11th.
Was it an oversight or a conscious decision?
Most active GD s had only three or fur days life and this was the general tradition and experience. I remember reading about some direct or implied guideline sometime earlier, but not able to race it.
It was in such belief that I concluded my side discussion by 7th June night ,22.58 hrs. On 9th there was only one post-that by the GD initiator- cum-Lead Editor.
On 10th morning itself, there was an editorial intervention by Lead Editor Jagdish Patro, giving a veiled hint that the GD has lived its life and become irrelevant. Patro had not been a participant in the GD. But still, the GD was allowed to continue one more day before locking.
It can be interpreted as my mistake closing my discussion early on assumption when there was no precise mention of last date. But this is my feedback.
