Will offline shops vanish in future?

The way people are going towards online shopping, it looks like offline shops will lose all their business to them. The kind of discounts and fast delivery options available now, who will go to offline shops? The kind of discounts and offers online retailers are giving is unmatched that's the reason offline shop owners are having headache. Many shop owners are holding strikes against online websites like Meesho where heavy discounts are available. If these things continue for long then it will be doomsday for offline shop owners. Will they close forever?

Online business is growing. That is true. So to that extent, offline business will come down. But what I am noticing is that because of that, unnecessary purchases are also happening. During my childhood days, if I wanted to buy a pen, I had to ask my mother and she had to ask my mother and get the required money from him. Sometimes I had to answer many questions from my father. But now the situation is different. The wife will have an add-on card and she can purchase whatever she wants online and the bill will be paid by the husband.
I don't think offline businesses will close down. The share may come down or even maintain the same level but may not increase. So many malls are coming and people are going there and purchasing the items personally also. Food items and many Kirana items are being purchased offline only by the majority of the people. But money is being paid digitally by maximum people.

More and more people are going for online purchasing and the volume of online buying transactions is increasing day by day. Many online stores are providing quick and quality service to the customers and becoming popular.
We have a large population in our country and there are a large number of people going to local kirana shops for their daily needs. Till that volume of people is present there is no question of closing of the physical stores. Only thing is because of reduction in sales, the number of physical stores might decrease.

    Knowledge is power.

This is an amusing question. It is true that online shopping activities are increasing not only in our country but all around the globe. Some reputed online stores like Amazon, Flipkart, Zepto, Blinkit, Swiggymart, Big basket, Tata neu, etc are selling a large number of items through their network of sellers as well as from their own warehouses.
Still, seeing the large number of consumers and people in our country it does not seem that offline shops would close down.
Further, everyone is not tech savvy and comfortable with online shopping. So many people resort to local physical shops.

    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

Offline business as far as I think is likely to stay in the years to come. There is no threat to this business due the online activities. The offline business provides us with a way of comparing our choice of products with the different products available in the market.in that way, the customers are getting a chance to observe the other product with a closer look.
It is a great way to see the other products closely and the buyers might take a chance to try another product in the current competitive market.
The online business on the other hand is targetted to promote the business of such products which the customers are usuing for years. It does not provide the customers a chance of trying the similar product available in the market.

I don't think offline retailers will vanish because there are many things which are cheaper in offline stores than in online stores. Sone products are extremely expensive on online portals when I compared them with the local offline stores. It seems they add the delivery charges and some products are extremely expensive especially the grocery items. I don't think they will completely replace the offline stores because middle class people don't buy such overpriced products. Electronics items like Smartphone, TV, etc may be cheaper online, but still people like to buy from local shops because they are afraid of the after sale service. Local shops usually are just a phone away to contact and get the replacement, while online portals take a lot of time for replacement or repair. Hence, in my they will never vanish in India but in foreign countries it may happen because their lifestyle is totally different from us.
Humble yourself or life will do it for you!
