[A special note for the diabetics: Yesterday I came to know that diabetics can also eat chocolate which contains more cacao (more than 80%) and less sugar. They must go for bitter chocolate.]

Chocolate is a favourite of children as well as adults. It is a sweet item and has a good shelf life.
Today we are getting a variety of chocolates in the market. Imported chocolates are also available.
I remember during my childhood we used to get a small chocolate of about 1 inch x 1 inch size and about 1/4 inch thick and wrapped in a plastic paper. It was quite cheap and parents gave it to their children.
That chocolate was soft and sweet but did not taste like some of the exotic chocolates of today.
The interesting thing about chocolate is that once you take them regularly you start craving for them.

    Knowledge is power.

It is interesting to know that 7th July is the world chocolate day. Chocolate is an item that evokes yummy feelings in our minds. It is the most common sweet used worldwide.
In the cold climate chocolate can be kept just like that but in the hot climate places we have to keep it in fridge so that it doesn't melt and doesn't go stale.
My sister who visited some European countries told me that in some places there chocolate is sold in lose just like sweets in our country. She quoted Belgium where a variety of chocolates were available and they also bought some quantity to bring it back home.

    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

I visited Belgium and purchased chocolates in huge quantities. The taste of those chocolates is unforgettable. Brussels is my favourite city and Belgian chocolate is one of the reasons behind it.

However, I have heard that Swiss and Swedish chocolates are even better than Belgian chocolates. But I have not yet got the opportunity to visit Switzerland or Sweden.

Yes. yesterday was World Chocolate Day. I am a chocolate lover. My brother's son went to the US and returned three days back. he brought some chocolates and gave us some of them. Yesterday I tasted them and I am very happy with the taste. As mentioned by the author chocolates are liked by people of all ages. But these days some parents are not encouraging their children to eat chocolates for various reasons. Even my two sons rarely allow their daughters to eat chocolates. So whenever I have to eat, I have to eat them without showing them to my granddaughters.
Cadburys company took some land on lease near our native place in East Godavari Dt. of Andhra Pradesh. They grow coco plants there and once I visited those plants. These days we get all types of foreign chocolates in some outlets in India. But it is a practice in some families to bring a variety of chocolates when they visit any foreign country.

Well, was not aware that yesterday was a World Chocolate Day. As such, didn't get to eat any. However, did have some couple of cups of ice cream yesterday. Can understand though, ice-creams won't compensate for chocolates. Will compensate by eating them today. There will be some stock of chocolates in our fridge always. Will share them with family. Yes, just like every young or old, we too are fond of chocolates. Sometimes get to eat the foreign ones, whenever a friend, relative or colleague gets to visit abroad.
    Patience and perseverance pays

Kids these days eat chocolates on a daily basis and everyday is a chocolate day for them. If they don't get those sugary chocolates, they make our life hell. Doctors recommend to never give them to kids but these multinational companies have spoiled our Indian kids.
    Thanks and regards.
