    Apprehensions during the rainy season

Rainy season has started in our country in many places and we are having good rains in general. The rains bring a great relief to the people suffering from the summer heat and it is definitely a time to rejoice, have fun, and enjoy. Many people go to hill stations, tourist places, water falls, and other such places during this time to enjoy this gift of nature fully.
But rainy season has its downside also. There are cases of cloud bursts, landslides, flooding, and other disasters during this time and one should be careful when going out to other places along with family and especially kids. There have been many cases of tourists stuck in some places due to the natural disasters and after a lot of efforts from the local administration they are being taken out from such a hazardous situation.
Do you go out to other places during the rainy season? How do you select a place especially based on the above apprehensions? Do you enjoy waterfalls drenching yourself in the falling water? Please share your experiences.

Generally, we have no habit of going to other places during the rainy season. We prefer March or April to have a tour. But if there is a necessity we may have to travel any time. I travelled to many places in India during the rainy season for office work. The place where we want to go will be selected based on the season during our visit. Our family visited Ooty in the summer and we enjoyed our time there as it is a very cold place. Similarly, we visited Munnar during summer and that place is very good for staying in summer there.
We visited Tirupathi in the rainy season to have the darshan, Lord Balaji. During that trip, we also saw Sri Kalahasti and Kanipakam. I used to go to SHAR Centre Sullurpet on official work. During that visit, I took my family also with me and visited the above-mentioned three places.
Generally, I never prefer getting drenched under waterfalls. But my other family members enjoy the same very much.

I like the rainy season as it brings the coolness with it for which we were yearning for so long. The surroundings become green and trees look so clean and shining without the dust cover which usually engulfs them during summer.
I avoid going out - both locally or outside, especially in heavy rains.
During rains, hilly places are more prone to landslides and road blocks and it is advisable to be cautious while planning a trip there.
Water falls are very popular destinations for the visitors and tourists. Sometimes due to force of water some accidents can happen in these spots so going near the fall or trying to drench inside it are not very safe actions.
Some people are by nature adventurous and take risks of all kinds during these rains but that is not a wise thing to do as life is not a thing to lose it in adventures.

    Knowledge is power.

It is a good thing if it rains after a long streak of summer heat. Current year has been the hottest and a good monsoon is surely the need. Our agricultural economy depends a lot on monsoon rain and paddy fields can't produce if there is less rain. There are some discomforts for people because of heavy rain like we can slip when outside. There have been many times when I have slipped because of rainy season. Also, while walking the mud can stick to your sleepers and make your trousers dirty while walking. In big cities sometimes the drainage pipes and water supply get mixed up during heavy rains and we get muddy water supply at home. The worst thing is the sweating which is unstoppable during monsoon season because of the humidity levels. All in all a bitter sweet kind of season.
    Thanks and regards.

Though the rainy season provides us with a great respite from the intense heat already felt in summer, it will not stimulate that level if there is a cloud burst leading to death of many innocent people moving outside the roads.
We welcome the rain appearing many places but the dangers associated with the season such as landlslding cloudbursts, and heavy rains in some pockets causing flooding are its side effects.
In almost most of the cities, there is a poor drainage system causing water clogging.
The other nuisance is most of the younger generations start taking selfie of some beautiful locations endangering their lives without realising the dangers of their actions.
