Working hard and consistently is the only way to gain experience

Experience is said to be the greatest possession a person has. Those who are experienced can do things effectively and efficiently. The question is how can one become experienced. The only way to gain experience is to work, work, and work. There is no short cut to gain experience.
People having interest to learn new things and accept challenges in the learning process are the ones who accumulate experience in a fast mode. Then they are able to take up more challenging and tough tasks and consequently gain more experience.
Working hard and consistently is the only way to gain experience. What are your views on this?

First of all, the candidates must be inclined to learn the process sincerely. There is no shortcut method to carry out a job. In the initial days, the more they face challenges in their tasks, the more they will learn the best strategy to come out from the struggles. They should not have any hesitation to raise questions in case they have a doubt related to their jobs.
It might take them a little time to understand the real process
However, it might cause some sort of discomfort initially but understanding the whole concept can prove to be a rewarding one in the long run. There are a lot of people who have mastered the job process brilliantly and have risen to the topmost position of the company with their dedicated efforts.

It's a truth that one should focus on working consistently throughout the life to become successful. There are no shortcuts and people who get something in a short period of time usually don't have the ability to handle such success. As mentioned in the Bhagwat Geeta, one should focus on his work rather than thinking about the results. People who are focused towards their goal without worrying about anything are usually the one enjoying their life. Those who unnecessarily worry about their future and do nothing usually spend their life repenting about the missed opportunities in their life. We should be always ready to grab the opportunities that comes our way and work hard to achieve the desired results.
Humble yourself or life will do it for you!

Gaining experience is necessary for career growth. The big question is how to gain experience. The simple answer is do hard work in a consistent manner to achieve the objectives and targets.
Learning is not a one day affair. It is a continuous process. One can gain experience only when one has interest and inclination in the learning process and in the matter and takes it with all seriousness.
If there is desire to learn and will to act then experience will come automatically.
I also agree that there is no short cut for gaining experience.

    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

Working for many years in an organisation may not give us the required expertise in the field. It has only putting up service for many years. While working in a particular stream, one should get full knowledge about the process and also should know what is happening around the world in that area. Updating the knowledge and getting deep into the process, troubleshooting and trouble solving etc., is essential for any candidate to say that he has some experience.
Working hard and consistency are the two primary requisites for a person to become an expert in a particular field. Technological developments will be taking place continuously and many changes in working patterns will also take place. One should understand these changes and developments and try to incorporate them into their work process and observe the performance. These developmental activities will help a person to get expertise in that area.

    Arbitrarily.

Members have responded some good points to this post about gaining experience.
I understand that experience is a cumulative entity. Everyday our experience increases bit by bit based on our activities and interaction and communication with others. Some experience comes with age while some with working. Lazy and slow people are poor in learning new things and it is obvious that their experience remains stagnant.
Some people avoid difficult and complicated tasks in a work place and shift their responsibilities on others. Such people do not learn and remain inexperienced and suffer in respect of making their careers.
Experienced persons are respected in the society and people come to them to seek advice and guidance.

    Knowledge is power.

Understanding the work, thinking of simplifying the process involved making the process fail-proof etc. are very much required for a person to become a professional. Thinking of developments in the process involved without sacrificing the cost and the quality and coming out successful solution is the key for a person to be called a professional.
