How to deal with situations when you fail even after giving your best?

There are times when we give our level best but still fail and there are times when we become successful even after giving not much of an effort. It pains a lot when we try extra hard and in return we get just disappointment. Such situations are heartbreaking and can make you feel very sad. In situations like these we lose our faith in hard work and think why did we wasted our time on it. It can be heartbreaking and can change the way you pursue your next task. Have you faced any such situation? How did you deal with such situations? What changes you made to avoid such things?

The answer is- Get up again. You cannot avoid failure; even when you are sure you have not made the same mistakes as earlier, you might still fail. Never consider the efforts put in a waste, because it is part of learning experiences and you should give yourself a pat on the back that you did make the effort. Take it on the chin, and move on.

We all heard the proverb that ' Failures are the stepping stones for success'. When we fail in our attempts we should remember this proverb. We should analyse the situation and find out the root cause for the failure, correct that mistake, and then go forward. One should not expect a failure but sometimes we may fail. We should not get desperate and start worrying. We should take it as a chance to learn. If you are successful, we never analyse how we attained the same. But when there is a failure we will look for the reasons. That means our knowledge about that particular subject is improved. Use this additional knowledge in your future tasks so that you will be successful.

Failures are a part of our lives. They will always be there and we will have to forget them and proceed ahead with renewed vigour.
The only bad part of failures is that some people are unfortunate and face many failures while some are lucky and get favourable situations in their lives getting minimum failures.
Some people call it fate or destiny but whatever we call it it is there.
People who are having many failures in their lives are often discouraged and demotivated to take up any action for their betterment. But there is no solution to that except trying and trying again.
I am trying to renew my driving licence for last 6 years but due to one or another reason I am not able to do it and presently driving with a learning licence. I am planning to go to the transport office soon for getting a date for my test and getting my licence renewed.

If we attempt a job, we are not sure that we will always be victorious. However, it does not mean that we should not make further attempts to achieve success. It is a part of our lives that we come across both junctions - failures and successes.. We need to analyse the real cause of the failure of past jobs so that preventive steps can be taken in the next attempts.
Too much excitement for success or looking gloomy for failure is not the proper solution. We have to analyse different facilitating resources before we start our work. If possible let us take the help of our seniors on how they have emerged successful in similar situations. Such analysis can minimise the chances of failure..

Hope for the best but prepare for the worst also. This should be our attitude. It is easily said than done. It needs training and practice. Sometimes external help and support too.
We are only a small object in a large world. Many of our results, responses and rewards depend on external environment too. When the environment is favorable, our winning chance is high. Reverse too.

We should cultivate an attitude to accept both failure and success. We should neither be excited on win and not to be depressed on failure. All wins need not be because of excellence and all fails need not be due to non-performance. They can be just the 'best among the current lot', that is all. So our results depend on the lot or sample group r on the judging lot.

One personal experience. When I went for first time for my promotion , there was an informal criteria to give preference to seniors-I was the junior-most. When in another occasion, when I was senior, the unpublished decision was to promote juniors and freshers. Both these were not in my hands and depended on the external factors beyond my control and independent of performance too.

The Bhagavad Gita lesson 'Karmanyevaadhikaarasthe.." will be the best solace on such occasions. Perform without over expectation and over attachment. Thus we can avoid excitement or depression.

I have read about an author who was sending his writings for publishing but publishers were not accepting and returning the same and were asking him to edit it and improve and then submit. Finally, at an age of about 35 to 40 his first work was published. At that time there was no online publishing and only option was a physical printed book.
It is said that he had a large collection of earlier written manuscripts with him and after the publication of his first book he simply edited all the old ones and all of them were published.

    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

"All wins need not be because of excellence and all fails need not be due to non-performance. They can be just the 'best among the current lot', that is all. " - this quote by Venkiteswaran sir in his response is self explanatory and I don't want to add more.
We should put our efforts, believe in' Karma' or 'destiny', whatever you call and just move on. This is very easy to say but with experience, we will learn the things slowly.

It is definitely heartbreaking when you give it your all and in return you get nothing. Such incidents makes us stronger and prepares us for a stronger challenge. All one has to to do is never give up and keep working towards the goal without thinking about past failure. One should be focused towards his/her goal like Arjuna (the greatest Archer).
Humble yourself or life will do it for you!

We have to make up our mind as our attempt is good and result is not in our hand. Moreover the failure is the step further to the success as we can calculate where we lack which leads to that failure.
Today I returning from office towards bus stop. I saw a bus which meant for me was crossing me I just speed up my walk rather running (this is my effort) but the bus moved without stop.

The moment at this juncture does not look promising. However, this might be a transition phase. Let us hope so. The positive part is we have a pool of capable members having abundant potential to reverse the situation with their dedicated efforts.
We are sure to manage this turbulent situation with our combined efforts. Hope, we will soon enter into a favourable phase.
