Happy Guru Poornima to all ISC members.

Today is Guru Poornima. In our Hindu mythology, Guru is considered to be a God to all his/ her students. A guru is treated almost equal to God. So we all facilitate our teachers on this day. Some people say a Guru is different from a teacher. The meaning of Guru is a person who drives all his students from darkness to light by imparting knowledge. In modern concept, a teacher is also supposed to impart knowledge to his/ her students and hence we can respect all our teachers as Gurus.

On this day, I pay respect to all my teachers who taught me at various levels of learning. I should thank my PhD Guide, Prof. Nemani Krishna Murty, who helped me a lot in completing my task. My special respects to him on this day. I wish all the members of ISC a happy Guru Poornima.

We should have a Guru in our lifetime in however manner. Here Guru means we cannot construe the olden days Gurukul. Our father, mother, teacher in school, lecturer in college and in many times outsiders, our senior in office/work place are all Gurus. Guru is a person who removes darkness in our knowledge. It is our duty to remember them daily or at least on the day of Guru Purnima.
It is pity to see that among us how many persons are going to the teacher/lecturer to inform our success in examination after getting the result.
In Hinduism the reiteration for Guru has been given before God, that is Matha, Pitha, Guru and Deivam.
We will remember our Gurus on this day at least by mind.

I salute all my gurus on this auspicious day of Guru Purnima. According to our Hindu Concept, our mother is the best guru and we know a lot of input from her she is treated as the first guru providing us with real knowledge when we are in the dark. Then comes the position of our father always trying his best to guide us in the hours of need. .
Let us not forget the teachers of the schools and universities who have provided us with all support during the process of learning.
My salute to all my gurus on this auspicious day.
