How to maintain a healthy balance between online and offline life

Phones and computers are awesome tools that let us connect with friends, learn new things, and be entertained. But it's easy to get sucked into the online world and spend way more time there than we realize. This can be a problem because it can lead to feeling stressed, disconnected from the real world, and even having trouble sleeping.

    Here are some tips:
    - Take breaks: Sometimes, you need to just switch off your phone or computer.
    - No phones in some places: Try to keep your phone out of your bedroom or while eating.
    - Do other stuff: Find things you like to do that don't involve screens, like playing sports, reading, or hanging out with friends.
    - Talk to people: Spending time with your family and friends is really important.
    - Be careful online: Not everything you see online is true, so think before you share.

Remember, it's okay to have fun online, but it's also important to enjoy your life offline. Finding the right mix will make you happier and healthier.

To summarize, life is not that simple as it was before without devices and connectivity. It is simply not possible to perform tasks these days without the use of devices and in a short duration of time. As an example, back in the 1990s, we used to stand in line at the Railway station reservation counters to book train tickets. But now, we have IRCTC website where everything can be done. There is simply no need to leave all our tasks and spend half a day the station to find out whether you would get a ticket or not.

What do you all think about maintaining a healthy balance? Are you a screen slave or a life master?

That is a good suggestion from the author. Anything too much is harmful. One should know where to start and where to stop. Otherwise, things will go bad and we will succumb to unnecessary issues. There is a sea change in the lifestyle of people these days. Technology is developing and that is coming in handy to the people. But in this development, one should not forget about the necessity of safety and security in our lives. As mentioned by the author, one should spend some time off-screen. That is very essential. My mother who is 80 years old will be on her mobile only even at Midnight. Somehow I forced her to switch off the phone at night at least by 10 PM and switch it on again in the morning.
Yes. These days these devices are necessary for many things and simply we can't stop using them. But maintaining a healthy balance between online and offline is very important. Take the advantage but should not become a slave to these devices.

The Lifestyle of most of us has been unpredictable due to our constant use of mobile devices and other digital apparatus making our lives comfortable. In that sense, we are benefited from the judicious use of time. We have abundant time to be used in other constructive activities if we are interested in the same.
However, a bad trend has made our lives more stressful since we would like to use the idle time with unnecessary gossiping with some of our friends though not necessary at such a stage. Afterwards we would like to have pleasure Facebook or Videos to engage ourselves in the imaginary world.
However, we must ensure the safety of our health considering the hazards of such apparatus in our activities.

Internet has changed people's way of life and now people spend a lot of their time doing unnecessary things on smartphones. Many people don't even have time for their friends and families because they are busy watching videos or playing video games on their smartphone. There was a time when people use to gather together and have some casual chit-chat or play offline games like Ludo. Now even Ludo is available online and people usually play with unknown friends. Slowly and slowly we are all becoming internet addicts and this is a new problem for us Indians but there are many developed countries who have gone through this phase already. Many developed countries even have internet de-addiction centers for people who have destroyed their life because of this addiction.

To maintain a perfect balance we need to change our habits and also need to force youngsters to change their habits. I am saying this because all the modern devices are invented for our convenience and since those devices are helping us in every sphere of life we are getting habituated to them. This habit creates a big problem because it is quite difficult to change our habits. Doing similar things repeatedly every day will surely form a habit and we need to be careful. Enforcing certain self-disciplinary measures can help a lot. If we can fix the time for online and offline activities regularly and follow it then I think a balance can be maintained. Turning the mobile devices silent for a couple of hours at a stretch while carrying out important tasks every day and turning the internet connectivity off at a certain time at night every day are just a couple of examples. We must analyze our daily usage of mobile devices and maintain a schedule. If children are also guided in this way then things will become quite easier.

Otherwise, device de-addiction centres, like drugs/substance abuse de-addiction centres, will be not too far away in the days to come.

Especially after the advent and ease of use of handheld devices, the addiction to online involvement has increased manifold.
Whatever entertainment and information which were only available offline are now available online 'at hand'. Hence it totally discourages offline activities.

It is only by conscious efforts that we can keep a balance between online and offline activities. We need to keep clear time table and ensure that we follow them especially for the real life offline activities and involvements. It can start from a casual scroll, a shopping at the nearby Mall, stroll in the park, visiting temples and other worship places, occasional viewing of movies in theatre, family outing for dining , attending each and every social function private and public events, sharing vehicles like car pooling etc. visiting tourist places.
,picnic spots and pilgrim places all can help in bringing interest and involvement in offline life and reduce time wasted on avoidable online addictive activities.

An enforcement of strict discipline in our activities including the engagement to online is essential. At the initial stage, it might be a difficult task to implement the same smoothly because of the difficulties of the adjustment of the schedules.
Once a careful study is done, we can chalk out planning prudently. It needs careful planning of all activities right from the morning to the late night. We are sometimes helpless to lift our mobiles in case a serious breakdown has occurred in the plant and my phone is continuously giving me a message to reach the spot without a delay. That part is acceptable. This requires some sort of adjustments curtailing other online activities.
Without proper homework, we cannot balance the two activities.

A good advisory by the author. Social media is good only when it is used in the limited way otherwise it would become a obsession from which it is very difficult to get rid of. We have many priorities in our lives and should not waste too much time in social media.
    Knowledge is power.
