He never wanted his customers to tell lie!!!

Just beside the huge office complex, there was an excellent bar which was very popular among the white-collar workers working in the office complex. The name of this bar was 'Office'.

A new customer asked the bar owner about the bar. He asked the bar owner: "Why such a peculiar name for this bar?" The bar owner replied calmly: "I don't want my customers to tell lies to their family members. If any customer receives a call from his home, he can unhesitatingly reply that he is getting delayed in Office."

Interesting narration by the author. Sometimes these methods work well but if caught penalties are also huge!
Housewives are generally very intelligent to find out these secret codes at an earliest. They have got a third eye for that.

This trick will work out for the time being. However, I don't think that such a bluff will last forever due to the analytical ability of their counterparts. Wives are more intelligent in tracing out the facts. The husbands are safe temporarily. There are chances of being entangled after some time. If that occurs at any moment, the entire peace of the homefront will be disturbed.

A good humorous post from the author. It is good that his customers are not bluffing when they say they are getting delayed in the office. But if another question comes saying what are you doing in the office at this late hour. Did the bar owner have an answer for this? There is no way but to bluff.
We can manage one day or two days like that but after that, we will not have any answer. But once the person goes back home, the family members will understand the position and they will understand that the person bluffed with them. However, a joke is to enjoy an excellent contribution from the author.
One of my distant relatives used to come very late from office. His wife used to ask him why every day he was getting delayed. He used to say that he was sitting with his boss. Both of them used to have drinks in their office itself.

Partha has come with an enjoyable wisecrack, quite different from his serious factful narrations.
    It is a welcome treat.

In old bollywood movies there a funny character named "Keshto Mukherjee", always drunk and talking in a funny language. Mr. Partha looks like a person inspired from Keshto Mukherjee, always talking about alcohol and its related topics.
    Thanks and regards.

I express my gratitude to those respected members who have read this small post of mine.

Now let me take up the response of Babu Sir. He has talked about Keshto Mukherjee, who used to play the role of drunkard in Hindi movies and also in some Bengali movies. But, in real life, Keshto Mukherjee was a teetotaler. Unlike Keshto-da, I am not a teetotaler.

Babu Sir has also stated: "Mr. Partha looks like a person inspired from Keshto Mukherjee, always talking about alcohol and its related topics." On the other hand, Venkiteswaran Sir has opined: " Partha has come with an enjoyable wisecrack, quite different from his serious factful narrations."

Now, I am confused! Who am I ? What type of posts do I submit? Are these posts based on alcohol or are serious, factful narrations?

Partha, this post has evoked good responses and I would only say that you are not having any split personality.
A person having knowledge in various areas and presenting it so nicely in forums in the internet in this site as well as other sites cannot be a split personality. As per my perception and observation you are a complete personality.

I think ISC editors should remove this thread because this is an education website where children from school/colleges visit for guidance. Educational websites don't promote jokes on alcohol or pubs or bars. We are not creating a country where future generation will become alcohol addicts. This is not a social media website where people will promote such jokes.
Humble yourself or life will do it for you!

    What is education?

Although many of us think that education means taking admission in schools, colleges, universities, medical colleges, engineering colleges and in various coaching centres with the ultimate purpose of getting a job with a lucrative pay package, in actuality, education means to acquire knowledge encompassing various aspects which ultimately helps in broadening our mental horizon.

Further, education also helps a person to co-relate various issues in an effortless manner. For example, while talking about Keshto Mukherjee, we must know that in real life, he was a teetotaler and at least in one film, he played a normal (albeit minor) role. Has anyone seen him in 'Padosan' film? Did he play the role of a drunkard in that film? From this topic, a real educated person must be able to give a lecture on different types of comedies and also about silent movies of Charlie Chaplin (without consulting Google-uncle). Education doesn't mean to avoid discussing Keshto Mukherjee.

Similarly, wine industry churns out lakhs of crores of dollars and euros every year. This industry gives the governments all over the world thousands of crores of dollars as tax. During the coronavirus period, this industry sustained the economy of many countries and states. Under such circumstances, every educated person must know the differences between wine, whiskey, or rum. They must be able to understand the difference and taste between single-malt and double-malt whiskey. Educated persons should also have at least preliminary knowledge of differences between Taadhi, Bangla, Dheno, Chullu or Tongba (all are desi liquors of West Bengal). If they don't have this knowledge, they must have the curiosity to acquire this knowledge.

I mean to say we must not confine education only to get admission in educational institutions and prepare for getting a job. We must use education to broaden our minds.

    Thank you.

Such name boards I am seeing in our Chennai. A watch repairer hold his shop name as 'Watch Clinic'
One saloon in one place has the name board as, 'We will cut if you come inside'
A hotel named as 'Mister Idly Mrs .Chutney'
In this connection I read a joke:
One person first time went to a bar without the knowledge of his wife. When he start to drink, his mobile rings up. He took the fone with fear and ask her wife, 'How do you know that I am in wine shop?'

Many husbands make excuses for their late coming to home after visiting the pubs with their friends. Their wives know it and time to time comment on that. So it is not possible to hide things like that and even if hidden it gets exposed after some time.
    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

I suggest members to take this thread as a joke (see the emoticon) and to post comments from that angle only.
