How to rectify these issues I face in WhatsApp

Some three months back I bought a new phone. As I did not want to lose my chats, as a cautious measure I made the new phone as Linked Device. (I did not have any backup in my Google account, and was unsuccessful when I tried).

I regularly used the new phone for WhatsApp and periodically used it in the old phone as required to keep the Linked Device active. It was all okay till yesterday.

Yesterday evening suddenly the linked device showed me logged out. So I again linked the phone using the primary device. But from then on I faced the following problems-
    1. I am not able to delete any chats on my Linked Device
    2. Even after reading the chats, after closing the app and opening it again, all those chats showed as unread in the secondary device.
    3. Even if I deleted the chats in the primary device it does not reflect in the linked device.

I updated WhatsApp on my Linked device and primary device and again logged out and re-linked, but the problem persists.

Can you suggest a sure remedy for this?

This is a problem that might require guidance from a technician or technical person. Still I am aware of some general tricks that might help.
One is to run a cleaner app in both the phones. Then shut down both the phones and restart. Again link the device.
By doing this procedure generally some unwanted cookies or apps are reset which might be interfering in some way with WhatsApp.

    Knowledge is power.

I linked my WhatsApp account to my laptop. I receive all messages on both devices. But when I delete from one device automatically it will get deleted from the second one also. I suggest the author delink the second device and then delete all earlier messages from the second device and then again relink the same. By doing this, I think the problem will get sorted out. If the problem continues even after doing this it is better to contact a technician who is good at these issues.

I sent a WhatsApp message to WhatsApp narrating my problem. I received only the stereotype mechanical/automated reply with links to FAQ etc. That did not help and I sent my feedback as unsatisfactory.
Anyway today I find I am able to delete chats from my secondary device also.

Regarding Rao's statement "........when I delete from one device automatically it will get deleted from the second one also.", what I have experienced is that when we delete chats in primary device it gets deleted in linked device also. But not vice versa.

For he time being at least part of my issue is solved. But I feel not fully solved. Let me wait and see in coming days too.

I am still facing the issue of not able to delete chats from linked device. Yesterday and today morning I faced the problem. In the afternoon today I could delete a few posts from linked device phone. Again later I faced the issue.
When I searched net, I found a post of 2022 when the deletion from linked device was not possible.. But I was able to do till a few days before when I got logged out. Moreover I a not able to see any update on the above matter.

I am not bale to understand if it is problem with my phone or something in WhatsApp.

From my experience what I feel or interpret is WhatsApp is checking our device and the phone number and which phone has that number (sim) it is activating only that device for the WhatsApp features. Actually I had a different experience when I am using a number only for calling and messaging and another number for all other net related activities. When I happened to see my number used only for calling in others wa account showing as business account I was shocked as I have not installed wa using that number. Initially I thought somebody is misusing but later when we contacted wa we got a peculiar reply that the number used by earlier person have misused and so wa has put that for watching and later it is released for my perusal after so many checking.
