The author has presented an interesting topic about the magic show. I enjoyed such magic shows at a young age when the late P.C. Sarkar was a noted magician showing a lot of plays including the vanishing of a girl kept inside a box tied completely with a light rope. He declared that the girl won't be visible after ten minutes inside the container and the same thing happened within a couple of minutes.
The most interesting part was that he was found at the top of the tree just vicinity of the magic hall. I could not find any explanation for his shifting from magic hall to the tree.
With the progress of time, the miracle of magic shows has dropped shown in the earlier days.

Magic shows are becoming very few these days. I used to watch them earlier but these days I am not interested in these shows. As mentioned by Jha, P C Sarkar was a very well-known magician of yester years.
The interest in these shows is generated by the magicians themselves. They use a variety of techniques. Sleight of hand, misdirection, optical and auditory illusions, special props, verbal and nonverbal psychological techniques are some of the techniques they use to make their show interesting. Robert-Houdin is considered as the " Father of Modern Magic". Magician Shri Jadugar Anand of India was included in world records as having the maximum number of magic shows (36000) in 36 countries across the world for the last five decades by the World Book of Records, London. Nowadays we are seeing many such shows online. Because of these online shows importance of live shows is coming down, I feel.

Though the magic shows are very less in present days, it is good to take our children to magic shows as they should have some entertainment and in sometimes they make children to think further and further.
I my childhood my father took me to the magic shows many times.
Ten years back we arranged for a magic show in the marriage function of my senior officer's daughter. Initially on hearing many shrink their face on the announcement about the magic show but once the show started many children did not move out from the place and even elders refused to come for dinner till the show ends. Every body enjoyed that show.
