What is the limit of tolerance?

Since our childhood we are taught by our parents to keep patience and have tolerance for various activities around us. Our teachers in school advise us the same. Due to this type of upbringing it is obvious that most of us learn how to tolerate things in our daily lives. Still there are many occasions when we lose patience and retaliate or react.
Tolerating the behaviour of others is definitely a good trait but there is a limit to that and at some point generally people lose patience and start reacting.
What are your experiences in this matter? Is there a limit to tolerance or we should tolerate everything all the time? What do you say?

Tolerance is a kind of gesture in Human Being and is suggested to the Human by many ethics. In Mahabharatha Lord Krishna pardoned Shishupala, who was his relative person too, to his 100 times of offences. This story was depicted in Mahabharatha that we, human beings, should pardon others hindrances and the limit may be varied according to person to person.
However it is always, good to pardon the mistakes and offences of others and is better to move away from such persons instead of fighting or arguing with them.

Tolerance is big quality and some people possess it. It helps us in mitigating many unpleasant situations and avoid unnecessary confrontations.
But tolerance does not mean that we accept every thing as it comes to us. We must fight when something wrong is being done either to us or to anyone in society.

    Knowledge is power.

That is true. There will be a limit for anything. Even elastic will also be broken if we stretch beyond its elongation capacity. The limit of tolerance may vary from person to person. My maternal grandfather used to have a very high degree of patience. He never showed his impatience in his entire life in any case. he faced a lot of problems but never lost his cool. That was God's gift.
It is better to have patience. But beyond a limit, we may lose our patience. Generally, I will not become impatient. I tolerate to a large extent and there are very few instances where I lose my cool. From my 20th year, I took the responsibility of supporting my father in bringing up the family. I faced many situations where I had to control myself and keep things under control.
When somebody is trying to take advantage of our tolerance we should show our capacity to them and see that they will understand their mistakes. Otherwise, we will be always on the receiving end only.

I know my limit of tolerance. As far as possible, I want to remain in a cool state. It is not because of my cool temperament but due to the fact, I am conscious of my health. Any irritation or stress will develop my stress. If a silly remark comes from the other side, I would provide an answer with a logical explanation to silence the other party. Sometimes, it works but sometimes it may not.
Lastly, I burst out vociferously but in the next moment, I calmed down thinking that the other party had realised his mistake.

There is no fixed specific of tolerance. It is elastically relative. Tolerance threshold different from person to person on the same matter, varies even in the same individual on the same mater at different times and with different persons or provocateurs.
Tolerance level varies for the same individual at various ages and generally tolerance increases with age, experience and exposure. However for certain matters aging may also decrease tolerance.
Tolerance is not an inborn quality, but a purely cultivated and practiced characteristic.

The limit of tolerance cannot be quantified. The limit varies from person to person. It also depends on the mood and also on the circumstances.
