    Celebrating Shri Krishna's sacred birth

Today is Janmashtami. Janmashtami is the Hindu festival which celebrates the birth of Shri Krishna, one of the most beloved deities in Hindu religion. It usually falls in August or September, on the eighth day (Ashtami) of the Krishna Paksha in the Hindu month of Bhadrapada.

Devotees celebrate with great enthusiasm, fasting, singing devotional songs, and performing dances that depict scenes from Krishna's life. Temples are beautifully decorated, and idol of baby Krishna is placed in a cradle, symbolizing His birth. The highlight of the celebration is the "Dahi Handi," where young men form human pyramids to break a pot filled with yogurt, emulating Shri Krishna's love for butter. Janmashtami is a joyful occasion that reminds us of Shri Krishna's teachings of love, compassion, and righteousness.

On this auspicious day, I wish all the very best to the members of ISC.

Very happy Janmashtami to all members. We including the young generation should not forget the importance of this celebration. Given the importance of this celebration, the MP Government took a bold step not to close down the schools providing them insights of bondage between God Krishna & his friend Sudama and other related historical events. It will go a long way to develop the young generation's understanding of the culture.

I wish all the members of ISC a happy Janmashtami—Lord Krishna's birthday. In AP, Telangana and Karnataka schools are closed today on the occasion of Janmashtami. Some schools celebrate this festival and ask the students to come to school in the attires of Krishna and Radha. They conduct pooja in the school. Today my two granddaughters did pooja to Lord Krishna and both of them had the attires of Krishna and Radha and they worshipped the lord with devotional songs and dance. They offered butter and sugar to lord Krishna and distributed the same as Prasad to their friends. A lovely celebration.

May the blessings of Lord Krishna be there with every one of you at every moment and may all your dreams come true. All the festivals are a way to celebrate togetherness with compassion and love. So, let's renew the bond with all around us and spread happiness.

Krishna Janmastami is a very important festival and is observed in many places in our country. We also celebrated it in our area and some people decorated the Puja room with the pictures of Lord Krishna.
The celebrations continued till 12 in the night followed by Prasadam.

    Knowledge is power.
